This is simply my 1997 version of an old swing jazz classic which I have continued to perform and perfect, and which I plan to re-record.

Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby

Kokomo Arnold's blues classic "Milk Cow Blues", done by Eric (guitar and vocal) and appearing on my 1997 Traveling Light CD.

Milk Cow Blues

I have been playing various arrangements of this tune since about 1976.  This one, originally from a work demo for my swing jazz trio, features Eric (guitar), Rick Leppanen (bass), Ryan Burns (piano) & Brad Stoll (drums).  It appeared on my 2002 Third Step CD, now out-of-print.

Topsy

This is a solo, acoustic version of a Willie Dixon classic, originally popularized by Muddy Waters.  In order to get the swing of the larger, electric band, I used a Latin-type monotonic bass line for parts and then shifted into an alternating, ragtime-style bass line for other parts.  I do this much better now, LOL!

I'm Ready

My arrangement of the George & Ira Gershwin classic, originally recorded as a work demo for my swing jazz trio.  Featuring me (guitar, vocal), Ryan Burns (piano), Rick Leppanen (bass) & Brad Stoll (drums).

Summertime

This is an old Piedmont blues tune from the 1920s by Blind Willie McTell.  Me on guitar and vocal.

Stole Rider Blues

This version of the Hoagy Carmichael classic "Georgia on My Mind" was recorded as a work demo for my swing jazz trio, with me (guitar, vocal), Rick Leppanen (bass), Ryan Burns (piano) and Brad Stoll (drums).  I decided to release it in 2002 on my Third Step CD, along with other tunes from that session.

Georgia On My Mind

This song of mine was written back in 1981 and appeared on a couple of demos prior to releasing it on my 1991 Nine Shades of Blue cassette.  Like "Until Your Eyes Met Mine", I received a Certificate of Achievement for it in the 1991 Billboard Song Festival.  It features me (acoustic guitars, vocal) & Rick Leppanen (bass).
