“When I was writing these songs, I pictured myself playing a house party in a dingy little beach town. Like, all these super-sweaty college kids dancing so hard. That’s the atmosphere of my music: a little town that makes a lot of noise.” DENM makes good on that promise with his debut EP, Dreamhouse, and single “Under Pressure,” which are awash with natural uppers. Hailing from Santa Barbara and having been in a handful of bands, he has spent every spare moment writing for this project.
 
Investing arduous hours into studio time, mingling pop and garage rock with BPMs and R&B, the musician admits his craft takes a ton of discipline. “I don’t smoke weed and… wait for inspiration. I’ll get in the studio and hustle—like, write 10 songs on the guitar just to get one good one,” then adding texture using synths and more guitars, producing the tracks himself into a hybrid between deep house, R&B, and pop.
