Wow, what a night for the long-awaited return to the dance floor here in Scotland. The atmosphere was something very rarely experienced these days. Hopefully the recording brings across a little bit of the electricity in the air. Mixing rough in parts but who cares. Ally from Fenix, Telford and myself just played a few tunes each on rotation throughout the night, and it worked out really well. More times like this please!

A Mix For 2022

"This 1 hour DJ mix is 90% vintage disco vinyl - mixed live on 2 x 1210s - accompanied by an analogue reggae doorbell generator with a BOSS Delay pedal, plus a few sexy idents thrown in for good measure.

Recorded at my good friend Mark Dix's house in Barcelona after recently playing the Curtis Audio Cafe in the city - we highly recommend that venue - the best audio set up in the city.

The name of the mix refers to the big black eye I am currently displaying due to an accidental clash of heads last week - yep that's me in the cover shot and that is my black eye.

The project set out with the objective that every musical element is 100% original and that no samples were to be used in the creation of these original productions.

After their fast-selling debut 12 'International Smark', PAYFONE continued to deliver a fine blend of electro-disco boogie via releases on New York's Golf Channel Recordings, and London based LENG & DEFECTED Records.

Next 12 inch release ' Put Your Face Away ' is due out in September on the duos own Otis Records imprint.

Marcia Carr is a seasoned club DJ and radio presenter.  She's the producer of Everything Good (Rinsefm), the curator and director of the all-vinyl, female DJ squad Girlz B Like, producer of video series 2 Decks And A Mixer and occasionally makes tunes.
Known well among her industry peers, Marcia Carr is an international vinyl aficionado; she is the DJs DJ with more than thirty six years of loyal passion behind her.  She's played many of London's hotspots, she has been featured around the world on bills alongside many big names of the scene.

As a former street/jazz dancer she knows how to work up crowds internationally - from festivals to nightclubs, be it DJ'ing in a castle down to a minuscule horse-box - taking audiences on a musical journey that nearly always veers off into sheer eclecticism of sounds. 

Her club DJ sets of deeper, soulful, jazzy style encompassing tech house, Afro, gospel house, disco, broken beat, nu jazz and dubstep have also featured on air of a variety of radio stations as far flung as Singapore and Sri Lanka to a host of European neighbours - Estonia, Finland, Norway, Luxembourg, Greece, Ireland, Switzerland, Scotland - to Mi-Soul radio, and venues like the Ministry Of Sound radio, alongside the likes of Bob Sinclair, MAW and David Morales.  Invitations to spin around the world have continued to find favour and appreciation for Marcia gaining new fans everywhere she goes.

From time to time she has been involved with studio production and remix work, has also provided independent music consultancy to many organisations, all of which illustrate exactly why she is a tour de force, and still very much in demand around the world.
