Award winning vocalist ( Jazz Vocalist of the Year 2013/14- Scottish Jazz Awards)has a passion for early New Orleans blues and Hot Jazz.  Working the ‘not so standard’ tunes of old in with the Great American Songbook, Ali has an immense repertoire full of energetic , heartfelt and lively songs. From teh sweet to the sinister - there is somethg for everyone at one of Ali's shows.
With comparisons to Peggy Lee, June Christie and the vocal styling of of an young ‘optimistic’ Billie Holliday...vocalist Ali Affleck loves to share the stage and revels in the artistry of her band. Vieux Carré features an amazing line up of musicians ...Tom Davis - Guitar, Dick Lee - Clarinets/Saxophones , Owen Macdonald- Bass, Campbell Normand - Piano and Kevin Dorrian - Drums

Due to their love of upbeat tempos, Vieux Carré perform regularly for the local dance community in addition to private functions and other high profile residencies in Edinburgh. Vieux Carré perfromed to a sell out show at the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival this year and are looking forward to performing at the  Edinburgh Fringe, The Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival and work in Germany and beyond! 2013 is an exciting year indeed!
