Alison Clancy’s single “Morning Time” lives at the blurred edge of night's horizon. It wraps you in the chill before dawn, evoking hollow desolation, then transmutes via trip-hop mysticism into a siren's ghost song. The track’s groove is hypnotic, almost dangerously so. Produced by Esben "Es" Thornhal, its winding, windy textures echo the shadows of an empty bar at closing, or an expanse of barren desert: It is smoke and dust, lust and resignation. Alison’s somnolent voice, defiantly cloaked in the wreckage of her own delusion, cuts through the aural velvet and draws the listener to the razor's edge of mutually assured destruction. “Morning Time” promises solace after swallowing thorns.

“Morning Time” is the result of an international collaboration between artists in Brooklyn (singer/dancer Alison Clancy and cellist Chris Lancaster) and Copenhagen (producer Esben “Es” Thornhal, guitarist Aske Thornhal and conceptual artist/writer Marco Evaristti). “Morning Time” was created for a live performance called Nine by Seven directed by Evaristti and Lancaster.

About the Artists:

Alison Clancy is an artist in pursuit of beauty and catharsis. “Understood by the refined to be the best new rock front person from New York City since Karen O” (Sadie Magazine), she crosses between worlds and mediums. A classically trained dancer, most days start with ballet and end with an electric guitar. She dances Principal Solo roles at The Metropolitan Opera, acts in avant-garde films, and directs experimental music performances - incorporating dance, myriads of effects pedals, eccentrically beautiful collaborators, video feedback and lighting installations to create otherworldly highways, lost intersections where we search for ourselves in the shadows. Clancy has been the front person and creative director for the NYC bands Loving You, HUFF THIS! and Electric Child. Producer Esben "Es" Thornhal, is a multi-platinum Danish producer and composer, one of the most significant in the Danish hip hop scene, having produced the most downloaded album in Danish music history with L.O.C., Es crafts effortlessly cool soundscapes with pop sensibilities. His compositions glide between trip hop, trap, hip hop and post punk with the cinematic, refined ease of master creative. Es founded Graven, a niche recording studio in Copenhagen and recently launched Hangar Music Group, an international label and media house, that represents some of Denmark's most significant artists. His international resume includes WC, PMD, Ed Sheeran, Alonestar, Dead Prez, Pitbull, Gangsta Dresta, BG Knocc Out, COLD 187um, Dave East, Jim Jones, Fred the Godson, Royce da 5´9, Trina and many more.

Es laid down the foundation of this track with his brother, guitarist Aske Thornhal, and it was fleshed out by the raw emotional stylings of cellist Chris Lancaster, known for his many original compositions for concert dance and theater.

Marco Evaristti, is a provocative artist of diverse talents. While internationally renowned as an architect, he is perhaps most notorious for his controversial artworks revolving around absurd paradoxes and taboos, such as death.
