From the heart of Northumberland, this exciting new line-up conjures the spirit of the people and landscape of the North with music that is rooted in the tradition, underpinned by arrangements that make the music soar.

Alistair Anderson is internationally acknowledged as the master of the English Concertina and a fine exponent of the Northumbrian Pipes. 

Sophy Ball, one of today’s most dynamic fiddlers, first came to national prominence in the band 422 which won the BBC Young Folk Award. She is also part of The Bottle Bank Band, The Andy May Trio and played an integral role in Anderson’s last two CDs.

Sarah Hayes is one of the most sparklingly gifted singers and musicians in the country, well known as a multi-instrumentalist with Glaswegian anthemists Admiral Fallow and the more traditional line-up, Wildings. Her new CD Woven, featuring her skills as a flautist, singer and composer, was described by The Scotsman as “ambitiously conceived and beautifully realised”.

Ian Stephenson has been in great demand as a guitarist in numerous bands including The Kathryn Tickell Band, Kan, Baltic Crossing, 422 and The Andy May Trio. His considerable knowledge of instruments and musical genre shines through in his wonderful arrangements.
