"Les silences des fossiles" pour violon, violoncelle & électronique (2021 - extrait -).

"Les silences des fossiles", para violín, violonchelo y electrónica, es la primera pieza de un ciclo en curso dedicado a las mujeres artistas del siglo XX.
La pieza se inspira en la pintura de Georgia O'Keeffe, en esos huesos de animales blanqueados por el sol del desierto en la famosa serie de pinturas realizadas por la artista americana en Nuevo México, formas inmóviles que en su muda inmanencia aparecen como concreciones de un continuo temporal, más que presencia de muerte, memoria de vida.

This is the first recording from a new project, 'curse tablets' that comprises text, graphic scores, and a set of miniatures. The project has multiple possibilities of performance and presentation; this recording is created from improvised performances in response to the text created with Alistair Zaldua and used as compositional material in the studio.

Amalgamations for Organ 13th October 2018

Earlier before the lockdown this year, Paul and Maureen and I decided to establish an experimental trio to perform our own music. 
This piece was composed as part of a series of postcard pieces that I had set myself to write during 2020. This version was specifically written for Trio CZW, using our instrumentation, and I have since developed the score so that it can be performed by a more open set of instruments. Ideally each performance, or recording, is the result of collaborative work; I found that the score is less a strict taskmaster, and more a trigger for discussion and further decision making, to arrive at a notation that can trigger social processes. This way of working provides the opportunity for a kind of 'laboratory situation' where a notation for improvisers can be developed.
