The notion behind Stay«: 

The tracks’ notion is about the loss of love and its’ aftermath. We all are struggling with the repercussions of a break-up. It gets trickier when your former partner tries to play around with the situation. You kinda get mad and ask him/her if this all is a game? It never is and was easy to cope up with being all by yourself, after spending time with your loved one. And if she/he is unclear what they want, you should avoid getting in a situation, where things are unclear and they are exploiting your vulnerability. Because life is not a game, and you shouldn’t be a playball from someone else.

The original version of »Signs« was the second release of the Lucid Scent Experience Play. Originally, the track's meaning was about recalling the good old memories from your family vacation days. It was about the sheer thought of nostalgia when you’re coming up old family pictures from your summer vacation days. Born in the ‘90s, we were always recording the utmost majority of our summer holidays with a good old Sony video camera. During these days, we also stumbled over old recordings from my mum from the 60s to the 80s or old tape records she had around from the US in the 80s. 

With the smashing retake by London-based producer Great Skies, you can hear another great original piece that merged the influences of both worlds, from Great Skies and Alith Berndarn.

The notion behind »When You're Gone«: 

Once you came clear about the situation after a break up, you start to process everything that has happened throughout the last weeks and months. It really hits you as you realize that the person that you once were together, spent time with, is gone. Even though you start to have a normal routine, just a tiny moment in it can bring up the raw emotions you were feeling right after the second you and your partner broke up. Once the person is gone, you need to digest and give yourself the time to process and heal, in forms of long walks through the city (as shown in the video). But some of us do really have problems with processing such an intense situation.

So, around 6-7 months ago, I listened to George's new track »Ivory Eyes« and I was really enjoying every second of this gem 💎 of a track. What makes it for me a gem is on one side the amazing vocal performance and the arrangement of the instrumental. On the other side, it is the profound selection of instruments on the track that makes it a beautiful uplisting pop track that mesmerizes you to stand still, listen to the story that @George Holliday is trying to convey, and breathe it in and out.

So, fast forward, I'm finally able to showcase my rendition of this amazing track. I hope you enjoy the #FourTet-esque type of beat and that the remix is joyful for your ears. Don't forget to check out George, I really don't know which adjective would describe his craft in a short and perfect way. A unique talent, a great artist, a person to be inspired by.

If there is a current artist, whose evolvement I follow with such a joy, it definitely has to be Fred Gibson, aka @fredagain .

Whether, if it is about the whole idea behind his music: of presenting aspects of »Actual Life« or his vast variety of percussive and melodic tracks, it is the sheer emotion Fred could generate through a basic synth.  Such a generational talent, which is conquering the world of electronic music. 

So, when I found out that Fred has actually shared the stems of his album »Actual Life 2«, including this gem of a release, it was my duty to hop on it, and add my personal blend to it. Briefly said: 130 BPM, with melodic chord progressions and rhythmic percussions.

Sherwin, also known as Alith Berndarn, is an electronic music producer and DJ whose multicultural upbringing has played a key role in shaping his musical style. He started exploring electronic music early on, experimenting with genres like Lofi House, UKG, Speed House, and other electronic sounds. In addition to his music, Sherwin is also a visual artist, specializing in 3D renderings and visuals that he often integrates into his projects to create a richer experience.

Originally from Vienna and now living in Hamburg, Sherwin has gained some attention in the electronic music scene. His tracks have been played on stations like Byte FM (Hamburg), FluxFM (Berlin), Radio FM4 (Vienna), and Radio3S - SolarSoundSystem (Switzerland). He has also received support from artists like Joe Hertz, Rome in Silver, MOTSA, and BAYNK.

Sherwin has performed at several well-known venues in Vienna, including Café Leopold, Volksgarten, Fluc, Flex, and ARENA Wien, and has also had the opportunity to play internationally at the Key Club in Los Angeles, CA, and Buddha-Bar in Budapest, HU. Now based in Hamburg, Sherwin is looking to establish himself in the local club scene, bringing his unique sound to new audiences.

»Right For You« is a release from Vienna-native and Hamburg-based producer / visual artist Alith Berndarn, coming out on the 15th of May. The record is also the first release from the »Lucid Scent«-EP.

This is also the first release of the long-anticipated EP »Lucid Scent«. As inspirations, he made use of » Goddess «, a record by BANKS and » Choose Me « by James Blake.

The record is somewhere to be situated between Electronic and Alt. Pop, as it fuses parts from both genres. The tune starts with a mellow lo-fi pad, which is engulfed by the artist’s signature sounds: the chirping birds. The artist tries to convey a soothing feeling that is immediately impeded through the raunchy bassline. The track continues its’ energetic build-up, with rhythmic intonations that are following the trace of the eery-yet-intimate vocal chops, the racy bass line, and the euphonious chord progression. When the beat drops, the shivering vocals do engulf the listener’s surroundings, accompanied by the circumventing drums and percussions. The track’s intensity is getting more from second to second. This can be heard especially in the sections from 1:57 min to 2:27 min and 4:45 min to 5:26 min.

The notion behind »Right For You«: 

“….The track meaning/essence is to keep your mind clear, even though the situation around you might be a dire one. You should keep your eyes open because you never know that even if you’re thinking that nothing can improve the state, something can happen that turns it in the opposite direction. The beginning of the track aurally conveys the notion of being helpless. The end with its’ uplifting chord progression and the elusive percussions portrays the idea of keeping your eyes open. Also, to be sorry that sometimes you need to endure these moments of helplessness… But these moments are right for you… to grow personally.”

»Lucid Scent« is the sixth and final single from Vienna-native and Hamburg-based producer / visual artist Alith Berndarn, which comes out in 2020. This is also the final release of the long-anticipated EP »Lucid Scent«. 

The track »Revolution« by MOTSA is the main influence of the piece. The record »In Here« by Joy Orbison & Boddika is another inspiration for setting the soundscape of »Lucid Scent«.

»Lucid Scent « can be sonically seen as an Experimental Electronic Piece with UK Bass vibes. The piece immediately starts with a girthy bass sound, surrounded by haunting vocal chops. The short break down that is accompanied by an eery-ear shivering set of vocal FXs, followed by a transition into the first main section of the track. In the section, your ears will recognize the rhythmic intonations in the forms of the ubiquitous percussions and the subtle kickdrums. These are accompanied by a crunchy bassline, a set of circumventing vocal FXs and echoing lines of a vocal hook. A euphonious chord progression adds the last dime to the whole picture. The track’s intense moments can be heard especially in the sections from 1:13 min to 1:30 min and 2:19 min to 2:49 min.

The notion behind »Lucid Scent« and its’ video: 

“Lucid Scent is about the crave, the feeling of being on the go. It is about the feeling of wanting more, even though it would be not the best option, especially for your mental or physical health. In society, you feel the push to achieve goals way faster than it is possible. You sometimes feel the pressure that you need to fulfil task after task after task, in merely seconds. Hence, the reference on the switch of subway stations on the first part of the video. The second section of the video (the ride in the taxi during the traffic jam) illustrates the feel that you need some help to change directions and options, and you’re only getting forward slowly… and you’re impeded by stops, tasks and switches in life. The final switch defines the change to the right path, that you’re finally coming out of the commotion and the hurdles by yourself.”

I get a lot of inspiration from house, garage, dnb and hip hop. I live in Hamburg, moved from Vienna there. This whole project kinda evolved into a serious thing. it's cool. 

i've released a couple of mixtapes, with two hitting over half a million streams, and tracks featured on Byte FM and Radio FM4. artists like Joe Hertz, Rome in Silver, MOTSA and BAYNK have even given nods to my work, which still kind of blows my mind.

I have lots of plans for 2025,  already released my singles and EPs I Hear (Dawn), Be (Alone) ,  Don't You (Wanna), You (Wanna See), with more singles to come out soooon.
