Silent Servant-Solitude Illuminated

Los Angeles' Silent Servant returns to the fold with his first solo offering since his 2018 "Shadows of Death and Desire" lp for Hospital Productions.

Mendez wastes no time on the opener "Cyber Luminescence" featuring Cabaret Voltaire's Stephen Maillinder on vocals, with a modern take on classic synthwave displaying a heavier production style, with fluttering kr-55 hi-hats, synthesized snares, and a chaotic punk energy. This is not without melody and catchiness, as Mallinder drives the track full on; masterfully singing about a dystopian future which we very well may be living in at this moment.

"Raw Optics" is Silent Servant in true form layering an atmospheric backdrop over driving raw sequences and vicious drum programming.

"Solitude Illuminated" is the real centerpiece of the record though, as Mendez goes into a new territory finding a balance between uplifting slow house music and his signature shadowy techno. Where his classic "Lust Abandon" was more Distant Dreams pt. II, "Solitude Illuminated" is more akin to something like Dearborn's house classic "New Dimension" but taking a fresh production approach on this bassline driven seven minute anthem.  Truly a welcome return by Mendez. Each record comes with a large heavy grade paper fold out poster.

Music is our sole driving force. Eclecticism, open-mindedness, divergence and non-conformity are the values we cherish. To achieve this, 3 or 4 artists from different musical backgrounds will come together on each release.
All of our artists, whether known or unknown, will work under a secret code name so that their true identities remain out of the public domain to avoid any preconceived ideas or a particular bias. By doing this, the music will always come first. Each release will be identified by a simple QR code, which, when flashed, will take you to a web page that will give, among other things, the artist's code name.
In the current market, most digital and vinyl sales occur over an average period of 2 months. Once this time period has elapsed, the true identity of each artist (if they wish) will finally be revealed on our web site. It is only then, two months after the release that the artists will be allowed to start communicating.
Contrary to the usual practice, COD3 QR will search out artists rather than the other way around, so it won't be possible to send us music. The founders of COD3 QR will also remain anonymous because their identities must not affect the image, expectations or perception of the label. To ensure anonymity, all of our artists will sign a contract agreeing to keep silent or be economical with the truth about the identity of those behind the label and the artists.
The music alone will be the reason why we sign an artist, and we want music to be the only reason for people to take an interest and engage with the label. For this to succeed, we must remain free of all expectations and all prejudices because only one thing counts: the music, The Music, THE MUSIC in every shape and form!

To follow on from the Alexander Kowalski and CYRK remixes of his 'Brain Picture' track, Dany Rodriguez now returns to LINK Audio with two new original cuts.

While both tracks share the genre of Electro, there's a distinctive contrast between them, with 'Beyond' delivering drive and groove, with washes of colourful melody and vocal touches.  While 'Parallel Circuit' opens with delicate piano keys and sweeping strings for a more IDM inspired soundtrack.  

Dany Rodriguez 'Beyond EP' will be exclusive to Beatport for two weeks from 22 July.  Other download stores, streaming sites and also the vinyl version will be available from 5 August.

Unrilis drops the latest release in its reinvigorated Rilis release series with a four-track EP by Ritzi Lee who is known for his hypnotic grooves and analogue sounds.

Rino Cerrone launched the Rilis series in the '90s as an outlet for his own experimental tracks and in 2022 the Unrilis team decided to relaunch the project with a release by Samuel L Session and Van Czar.

Ritzi Lee is a Dutch artist based in Amsterdam who is well-known for his releases on underground imprints ranging from Bas Mooy's Mord to Ben Klock's Klockworks and his dark and dystopian style with raw percussion is a perfect fit for the Rilis style.

Talking about his new Rilis series release, Ritzi Lee said: "I’m a big fan of the early Rilis releases. That sound was always integrated to my DJ sets and a big inspiration for most of my productions. The early Naples techno sound was always about pushing the limits, but at the same time keeping it groovy and funky. So, I was able to use those rules and apply them into this release while still combining my own signature sound. I think it’s best described as ruff edged with a minimalistic approach, but making sure to keep it warm sounding. I’m really happy with the result, as feels like there is a strong Amsterdam / Naples connection in this sound and I would say it is a perfect match."

In continuity with the first part of the project, "Ciao Italia – Volume 2" also wants to be a tribute to the artists who wrote this story. Artists who were often forced to use multiple aliases, so many that they can't even remember them all. A story that still sounds incredibly current and that has had the merit of breaking that stereotype of xenophilia of which our country is an undying victim. Much more than just a "scene" it can be described as a mental state, a lifestyle, marked by unifying electronic pulsations, exotic and dreamy, ecstatic and liberating.

Generazioni Underground - Volume 2" delves further into the origins of an era whose sounds and atmospheres remain an endless source of inspiration today. This time involving other seminal producers protagonists of that all-Italian golden age: from Cirillo, Kamasutra (Alex Neri and Marco Baroni), Savino Martinez & Claudio Coccoluto, Ivan Iacobucci, Riviera Traxx (Flavio Vecchi and Ricky Montanari), Tc 1992 (Roberto Intrallazzi and Marco Fratty, here in the remix version of the great Marco Trani) to Tony Carrasco (Exotica), Mauro Ferrucci and Christian Hornbostel (Nikita Warren), Pastaboys (Rame, Uovo & Dino Angioletti), Leo Rosi, Gianni Bini, Jonathan Tedesco (Beat Foundation), Fidelfatti, T.R.A., Oneiric & Vortex, Leo Young, Steve Mantovani, Daniele Mad & Dan E Mc, Corrado Rizza, Harley & Muscle. Buffered Multiple is the techno A/V project of Vienna electro poster boys Microthol. Buffered Multiple return to Pomelo after their debut on our 20 yrs compilation and subsequent EPs on other imprints.  “Buffer 05” starts off with “Prime Time” in super-saturated dub techno mode, its sublimely textured chords ambling hypnotically over a tense and pounding beat. “Shitty Track” changes gears into jack mode, with a bleepy morphing swing hook that drives up the intensity over a percussive beat and takes all the right cues from Chicago's second wave productions. “Junolized” delves deep into the abyss again, its expansive echoes weaving intricate layers of dub over a foundation of bottomless bass.
