The concept behind "Everything is Derivative" is centered around the exponentially increasing difficulty for artists to produce original sounding material to separate themselves from the collective cookie-cutter herd.  There is an innate fear of not being accepted for being too different instead of following one's own ears and personal instinct.  Though this track does follow a typical dance music arrangement, it was produced entirely from a modular synth and much of it was recorded live.

Donnie Martin's love for music and the exploration of new sonic territory fueled the creation of his DOHMA alias in 2014 as he translated his roots in classical music to experimental techno.  DOHMA's multi-layered sound is built with strange textures, hypnotic rhythms, heavy percussion, and lush soundscapes that are inspired by the organic chaos of nature.  His unique performances push the envelope of live techno music as intricate improvised explorations combining live sound sculpting and disjointed percussion via his modular synthesizer and other various hardware.   As a former resident artist of Boston's Infra collective opening up for Ansome and Axkan in 2019, DOHMA quickly affirmed himself as one of the most prominent live performers in the northeast underground scene delivering a powerful statement in his sets.

In 2020, Donnie released a minimal ambient EP under the pseudonym Amhod improvising washed-out loops with his electric violin.  His newest endeavor, titled EHMN, is a dark experimental and avant-garde sound art project stemming from his lessons with Morton Subotnick.
