I can honestly say this has been one of the very worst, bizarre, shit scary and at times wonderful years of my life where the important stuff all became so clear and much more important, and the shit stuff became obvious for what it always was…

Well I really can’t imagine anything more exciting than signalling better times ahead by spending a weekend in a field with my brothers and sisters from Sancho Panza at their annual dancing jamboree Campo Sancho!!!

The thought of being together, dancing to music, talking and hanging out for a whole weekend actually gives me the total tingles.

I love Jim and Matt. They are without a doubt two of the good guys of the music and events industry. They do everything they do with passion and for the benefit of people. They love music and their energy spreads into everything they do. Decades throwing parties at London Carnival, Glastonbury and beyond stand testament to that.

And when you play or dance at one of their events you can feel something else truly special. Something called community. Many of their people have also been with them for decades. People know each other. People love each other. The feeling is strong!

Now it’s time to dance, drink, laugh and love again.

I got so excited about the prospect of playing live again to real people in a field surrounded by passionate people that I did an exclusive mix for Sancho to celebrate life. I hope you enjoy the music and will dance with me.

What a night! Our first resident night at the one and only Monarch Berlin Club (24.9.) after the 18 months Corona break was a very special moment for me. Too Slow To Disco Resident Night at Monarch with DJ Supermarkt (24.9.21)

I played a hugely enjoyable 8 hour marathon at Kantine am Berghain in Berlin last Thursday, and although I wasn’t able to record the whole night, I did manage to get the first 3 hours and the final hour and a half. So this is a mix in 2 parts – the first 185 minutes a downtempo groove fest, whilst from 3.05.26 onwards we’re into the final furlongs of the party with proceedings much more upbeat.

I realised last week that it's 10 years since I started DJing and producing under the Leftside Wobble moniker and it also so happened that one of the inspirations for getting back into music 10 years ago was celebrating his 50th this weekend. So a revival of the Dub Disco Deli mix series seemed apt for the occasion as that was always the series of mixes that stayed most true to the LW unbounded by genres ethos. Chic had a sound of all their own, the crack rhythm section of Nile Rodgers (guitar), Bernard Edwards (bass) and drummer Tony Thompson providing the highly infectious grooves that characterised their records. They would be massively influential as a consequence, their anthemic tracks still loved all these years later, with a new younger generation embracing their good time vibe in the same way their parents might have.
 
The mix consists of 12 edits / reworks of 9 Rogers & Edwards produced tracks, all of which happened to be originally recorded during 1977-79, the years which saw Disco peak and decline, with Chic at the helm during those halcyon days, their own recordings providing 4 US top 10 singles, including a pair of #1s, whilst Sister Sledge, whose success they mentored, weighed in via the hit-laden ‘We Are Family’ LP. They even found time for a French excursion via Sheila & B Devotion’s ‘Spacer’.
