We reworked this classic for your listening pleasure.  Taking the original samples and following the guidelines that DJ Premier etched out. The Charlie Parker and Miles Davis sample is the driving force with the James Brown guitar and a cool Latin groove that comes from his Live at the Apollo II album filling in the full sound.  Re-working some elements in a new way with modern drums our own take on the track for a fresh spin on an amazing classic.

We got this idea from the classic Moodymann release "Music People". We loved that sample but wanted to flip it in a more breakish way, we ended up somewhere between breaks house and nu-disco. Hopefully you dig it..

The second release from Dusty Donuts cooks up summer in the winter with two Native Tongues inspired edits. Naughty NMX currently residing in Hamburg via London and Berlin, brings his classic b-boy style to the table on production duties.
 
Side A - Jungle Mango - is a journey into African chants, vintage horns and famous breakbeats. A nod to the days of instinctive rhythms and happy go lucky dance floors. 
Side B - Name And Number - brings the break back to the break by looking to the inspiration of a classic and reconstructing it, making it fresher than the original. Get it? If not, I'll get back to you.

And while their musical tastes range the gamut, when Frank and Rusty join forces the end result is always the same: they deliver a sound that is funky, fun and fresh.
