We reworked this classic for your listening pleasure.  Taking the original samples and following the guidelines that DJ Premier etched out. The Charlie Parker and Miles Davis sample is the driving force with the James Brown guitar and a cool Latin groove that comes from his Live at the Apollo II album filling in the full sound.  Re-working some elements in a new way with modern drums our own take on the track for a fresh spin on an amazing classic.

On “Breakin’ My Heart”, Jim Sharp finds a way to bridge the summery goodness of ATCQ with the original instrumentation sampled by Dilla. The iconic vocal lead of Bebel Gilberto floats over the boom bap drums to make it a sure shot. The flip side, “Check Minnie's Love” once again shows that Naughty NMX and Runex are on point. The product is horns, beefed up beats, fat bass and silky smooth vocals to make you think it’s ’92 again (without the Rhime). Minnie rips the lovely 
vocals into a dance floor banger.

This track is taken from the soundtrack of Eddie Murphy's short lived animated TV show The PJ's. (1999)

The original version is only a measly 3 mins 14 long. So i wanted to create an extended version, editing The Vocal & instrumental and adding a wonderful drum loop (by Poolside - Do You Believe) to make the beats more prominent.

In other words, these guys are no strangers to the funk. And while their musical tastes range the gamut, when Frank and Rusty join forces the end result is always the same: they deliver a sound that is funky, fun and fresh.
