Big Spider's Back - Pffff

At the beginning of February, we told you about the forthcoming full-length album by the sci-fi-lovin' bedroom producer known as Com Truise, called Galactic Melt. Still a ways off from seeing that record, we're going to be treated to the three-song Fairlight EP on May 3, courtesy of releasing label Ghostly. None of those homegrown, electro-tinged tunes come from Truise's aforementioned debut LP, and yet they do trick of tiding us over until it arrives. Take the hyper-compressed "Polyhurt," where '80s-inspired sonic motifs are infused with fresh compositional ideas and a reinvigorated soul, one that emanates as much heartache as neon glow. It'll certainly be enough to satiate our nostalgic urges until Com Truise unveils Galactic Melt on July 5.

To celebrate the duo's ongoing success, Fat! Records have compiled Beginnings, a selection of 8 of the very best tracks Maribou State have to offer. Not satisfied? Well, the collection also includes 7 remixes, from the likes of Bondax, Pedestrian and HxdB.

Originally released back in 2011, 'Soul Structure' presents a serene take on breaks, showcasing Maribou State's fantastic sampling abilities.

Aphrodite's Child - Air (Fulgeance Rework)[Free Download]

Making its way via Philadelphia’s People of the Light imprint, the "You in My Dreams" EP showcases the talents of Charlotte Balibar, the French-born, New York-based artist known as SuperJaimie. The parcel presents the title track in multiple forms, including an instrumental version and reworks from Jay Hill and Subjacent – the latter delivering two interpretations, by the way. The core of the release, however, rests firmly on the original composition, which introduces a certain magic through Charlotte's captivating vocal presence and the track's expertly constructed emotional landscape.

Premiered here, the original mix establishes the foundation for the entire EP. It is a deeply atmospheric piece where SJ's voice becomes the central guide, its ethereal quality feeling both intimate and expansive. The vocal melody glides with a graceful ease over a warm, undulating bed of chords that provide a rich, textural depth. The rhythm section maintains a steady, pulsing groove that grounds the airy elements without ever feeling forceful. This is the definitive version of the track, a perfectly balanced fusion of human touch and electronic design where every component exists in thoughtful harmony.
