Date A Live OP Symphonic/Orchestral Solo + a quick riff I cooked up for this part. It's way too epic for me not to just jam along it.

I wanted to listen on my monitors how my current preset on the BOSS GT-1 actually sounds like since I've only been playing it through small speaker. So here's something quick I cooked up while listening to this song. It's not very clean but I'm happy with it, it's just for fun anyway.

I got carried away and recorded 5 different tracks just for this. I've never done dual or triple or quad or hell, even quint tracking before so I thought I should try it for myself and see how it goes. I don't know if it sounds good to you but it worked very well for me. 

Every track is named as such:

All of them were run through the built-in cabinet simulators inside the BOSS GT-1 except for the CalifStdC which was run through an external cabinet simulator.

This is Type C. It is a bit louder than the other two quint tracks, Type A and Type B when I simply moved the positions of a couple of the guitar tracks. However it is also interesting to note that this Type C have that stronger and heavier bite plus a little bit more midrange in the middle.

I just can't stop myself from experimenting and expanding my own knowledge. I tried to improvise my quint tracking of my Date A Riff yesterday and it sounds to me that I've succeeded in doing so.

SLDN Origin + 4x12 + CalifStdC Quint Type C Raw (Date A Riff)

Trying out BGelais's BGDoubler Xpress VST. All this plugin do is make your guitar tracks sound like they're double tracked or something. It's awesome really. And pure magic. No buttons, nothing. You can probably play around with the stereo width slider on your DAW to change how it behaves but I think that's all. Works with vocals too.

I found that this plugin is pretty good to get those classic metal sounding guitar tracks, like Painkiller by Judas Priest for example. The delay between the tracks on left and right gives you that kind of reverb which is very suitable for heavy riffs.

This track is probably not the best usage of this plugin but I think it fits pretty well in the mix. No post-processing was done in the mix. For reference, I've also included the isolated guitar track without BGDoubler enabled.

I'm still learning and this probably sounds terrible but I like what I discovered here. This plugin will definitely stay in my rack forever.

P.s. Really nice and fun song to listen to, by the way. Maybe I should just watch Saekano already.

No EQ's were applied. Only one VST was used, iZotope Ozone. I rarely use this plugin, but I think it worked very well in this mix. I tried to not use too much of the plugin because I'm not too fond of the artificial stereo sound.

Side note:
I haven't recorded anything in a while. Tuned down my guitar to Drop D for the first time. After two weeks, the tuning seems to have stabilised. Song is a boss battle theme (Avatar) from the Paradise Lost Pt. 2 event of the Granblue Fantasy mobile game. A really fun game, that sucks a lot of your time and life. I just started playing though, and this event was the only thing that I played at that time because this song was just so good.

Cleaned up some of the audio. More post-processing on this version than YouTube's but not over-processed, I hope. Can't be bothered to fix that mistake on the pinch harmonic during the breakdown though...

Noodling around with BIAS FX 2 and I found that the Classic Crunch preset reminded me of this amazing song by Versus Them. Such a perfect fit. I just had to record myself playing this part because I love this riff. It's simple yet beautiful.
