This waiata (song) is about having a bad or feeling down, and knowing "he rā ki tua" - better days are coming. Co-composed with Ed Taylor (guitarist).

He Rā ki Tua

ALLANA is a singer songwriter artist. She sings mostly in her indigenous reo (language) through her original music which is varied and wide-ranging in genre and style. The common theme is her original story-telling voice. In 2022 she released a collaborated album, E Rere Rā, with pianist Mark Baynes, under the artist name Goldsmith Baynes. In 2020, under a jazz collective album named Alchemy they were nominated for best jazz artist. In 2023 presented and sung at the Lowitja Conference in Cairns, Australia. Presentation title: A kaupapa Maori (Maori centric) research approach in a jazz music context in Aotearoa (New Zealand). Allana has a Master in Music (first class honours) graduated at University of Auckland.
