We're back with another amazing mix, this time by Kenneth Scott, one of the new partners of the Bad Animal label. Kenneth and I met so many years ago in San Francisco, and our collaborations started right away. From releasing on our old label Nightlight Music, to our current collaboration with Dave Aju and Marc Smith, Scott has long been involved in my musical life as a dear friend and co-conspirator. One of my favorite people and one of my favorite DJs took the time to deliver this HOT mix, in support of his forthcoming vinyl debut on Bad Animal, which features an incredible remix by our boy Tom Ellis.

Kenneth Scott spent his formative years surrounded by hippies in a small town in rural Iowa, and somewhere amongst their penchant for Trancendental Meditation they introduced a young Mr. Scott to rave music. Soon after, between dabbling in Hip-Hop production, tinkering with cheap hardware, and full immersion in mid-90s House, Drum N Bass and IDM, Scott found himself on a one-way train to the distant shores of San Francisco, where his bastardized melange of electronic dance music was welcomed with wide-open arms. 

After several years building notoriety as a promoter, collaborative performer, and consummate after-party DJ extraordinaire, Scott shifted his attention more seriously to solo production, which is currently garnering him increasing accolades in his new home of Kreuzberg, Berlin. Trying to find a balance between BBQ's in Gorlitzer, mornings at CDV, said after-party DJ demolition acts, and attempting to keep up with the demands of him actually making something that resembles house music, Kenneth Scott is a busy man still on a one-way train, with no brakes - as proven by upcoming releases on Vakant, Circus Company, Bad Animal, and his affiliation with live improvisational futurist techno troupe The Hong Kong Cavaliers.

Genocast 06 - Kenneth Scott Promo Mix

Hi, I'm Alland and I like making and collecting music. I was born and raised in LA, moved to SF in 2003 where my friends and I hosted a big, fancy, well-known techno party at a legendary club called The Endup.

After seven wild years in the Bay I moved to Berlin and some fun stuff happened. Got an album out on Third Ear Recordings, some singles and EPs on Room With A View, Dirt Crew, Poker Flat, Rawax, Housewax and some other nice labels. Had a couple residencies in clubs and radio stations. A couple of my best mates and I started a band project called KAMM, and together we released two albums. The first came out on Marcel Vogel's fine Intimate Friends label, and the sophomore LP on France's legendary Circus Company. See? Fun stuff happened!

These days I spend most of my time in my nice little home studio, I'm the Art Director at Beatport, have my own indie label called Full Bleed Sound, I buy synths I can't afford and I'd most likely like to pet your dog.
