This was recorded at a [KONTROL] underground event in San Francisco, 2006. The Modeselektor boys made exclusive East Bay hip hop bootleg edits just for this show, as they were totally enthralled by this sound they had never heard until we booked them at another [KONTROL] show earlier that year.

This underground event was, by far, the most fun underground event I've ever been to, and I'm so happy we put it together. The room was so packed that you couldn't help but "grind" the people to every side of you, and thus the crowd became this sweaty, pulsating organism that went apeshit to every sound that came out the speakers. We had to repair a few walls the next day.

I am only sharing this with a few people, and I am not authorized to make it available for download. I ask that you please respect that, for my sake and for the sake of the artist.

Modeselektor Live @ [KONTROL] SF Underground 2006

Hi, I'm Alland and I like making and collecting music. I was born and raised in LA, moved to SF in 2003 where my friends and I hosted a big, fancy, well-known techno party at a legendary club called The Endup.

After seven wild years in the Bay I moved to Berlin and some fun stuff happened. Got an album out on Third Ear Recordings, some singles and EPs on Room With A View, Dirt Crew, Poker Flat, Rawax, Housewax and some other nice labels. Had a couple residencies in clubs and radio stations. A couple of my best mates and I started a band project called KAMM, and together we released two albums. The first came out on Marcel Vogel's fine Intimate Friends label, and the sophomore LP on France's legendary Circus Company. See? Fun stuff happened!

These days I spend most of my time in my nice little home studio, I'm the Art Director at Beatport, have my own indie label called Full Bleed Sound, I buy synths I can't afford and I'd most likely like to pet your dog.
