I'll Leave You Alone (with The Leaders)

Another one from my archive of cassette demos. In the early 80’s our band, The Leaders, lived together in a house in East Meadow, Long Island. Bob and I would each write songs and demo them as ‘one man bands’ on a 4 track TEAC deck that Bob had. I subscribed to the ‘kitchen sink’ method of production which required lots of track bouncing. This added noise and saturation but it also required lots of invention. The snare hits were actually a set of wooden coasters duct taped together and hit with a drumstick until they broke (about two thirds through the track). I did some bass noodling throughout which I still like. As with a lot of the cassette to mp3 conversions, the first couple of seconds seem to get cut off for reasons I still can’t figure out….Enjoy!
