The second instalment of Eric Sneo&#8217;s Re-Transmit series has landed and Boris gets his hands on &#8220;Slave To The Beat&#8221;, where he mangles the trademarked vocal even more. Cavernous effects bring us up to date, the shuffling rhythm section grinds away and some of the industrial overtones of the past are kept alive. On the 2014 edit, we get the vocals in full force, while much of the menace of the original is kept intact as the sub-bass gallops under the hats and rides. 
 Sasha Carassi&#8217;s version of &#8220;Dance La Famila&#8221; steamrolls through the night with its tough groove and mechanized percussion, letting dark stabs and a bubbling bassline all come together for a streamlined, nocturnal journey.

Nobody has to introduce Felix Kröcher. From his home base in Frankfurt, the very center of Europe, he is able to attract the most simple elements that define sounds in scenes around the continent and like a good alchemist turn them into gold. In Catena EP he demonstrates how simple elements can turn into the deepest, mind blowing creation, without crossing the borders of minimalism. Catena is a master piece of deep techno, while Wigbert's remix to it is a master piece of minimalism and powerful use of synthesizers. In the second track, "Stars", he takes those elements adds a powerful peak time groove that even Umberto Pagliaroli's Tech House remix to it could not astray from. Simply, overwhelmingly, deep.

This September saw the release of Christian Smiths third solo album Input/Output delivered on his very own imprint, Tronic. The 11 track production embodied his message of creating real techno, with powerful percussions and melodic basslines throughout.

This December as winter draws, Christian brings us a formidable remix package with reworks from Julian Jewell, Kaiserdisco, Kenny Glasgow and Victor Ruiz.

First on the line up, is Kenny, who takes Subzero into a hypnotic zone, riding deep along a slowly building melodic hook. Pulsing bass stabs go in and out, building an atmosphere before the percussive force kicks in with authority. 

Initiate Sequence is going full force with this remix by Julian Jewell, it comes straight out the gate with a pumping beat. Searing claps push the mix amid a repetition of dark vocals. Bringing a pounding floor filler to the mix. 

Kaiserdisco delivers some low end funk with their remix of 'Explanation'. Groovy yet strong, this mix brings it all together, combining catchy synth work with the dark undertones we all love to vibrate to. 

Victor brings us his rework of 'Blast Off', and brings it he does! Crispy kick and a booming low hold down the back bone of the beat like a boss, as the thundering synth rides atop.

Now in its second decade, with a steady stream of the most forward thinking and cutting edge techno productions, Drumcode has one of the biggest selections of releases from industry heavy hitters, whilst not forgetting its future by bringing the newest talented producers into the limelight, where Layton Giordani is now a name firmly within that line up.

The New York born, but now EU based producer first had recognition back in 2014, and his debut release came via Drumcode with his track “Rivington” on the A-Sides Vol5 compilation in 2016.

Full force into 2017, Drumcode has announced the release of Layton’s debut album with “Where It Begins” this February. Consisting of 12 original tracks, the album packs a punch when it comes to no-nonsense techno. Drumcode returns with its 6th installment of the internationally celebrated A-Sides series. Renowned for fostering a shared space between industry tastemakers and rising talent alike, the careful curation that goes into each volume is a fine example of why Beyer’s brand continues to go from strength to strength.

Techno titan Adam Beyer has grown Drumcode into a force to be reckoned with; the label has become synonymous with forward-thinking, functional techno and even after 20 years, Drumcode continues to find new boundaries to push, and ways to solidify its legacy as the world’s number one techno label.

The heart-throbbing bass in Amelie Lens’ electrifying piece ‘In Silence’ sets the tone for the dark and dance-floor-ready energy that Vol.6 carries the whole way through. Other standouts include Mars Bill’s rough’n’ready ‘Mohave’. Pulsating and precise, ‘Mohave’ has highlighted many of Beyer’s sets recently as has Wehbba’s monster track ‘Fake’, which fans have been anticipating the release of all year. 

Label-favourites Dense & Pika also feature on ‘A-Sides’ Vol. 6 with their hard-hitting ‘Just a Beat’ and a huge track from Beyer himself who has joined forces with Enrico Sangiuliano to bring us their undeniably infectious ‘Preset Heaven’.

Drumcode’s youngest rising star, Layton Giordani, exploded on to the scene after his debut album “Where It Begins” back in February, after scoring some of the biggest festivals in Europe this summer, he now returns with an exciting collab titled “Live Again”.

Ramon Tapia drops his first solo outing for Truesoul with the classy ‘Manipulate’.

The recent outstanding form of Ramon Tapia has been too good to ignore for Adam Beyer. In December the Belgian dropped the powerful ‘Hexagon’ as part of the Truesoul V/A EP, and with Beyer’s attention on lock, follows up swiftly with the excellent ‘Manipulate’ EP.

The title track embodies the ethos of Truesoul to a tee; a crisp and groovy work that straddles the divide between house and techno, it’s a late-night burner that shines courtesy of a dark searing electro bassline and pin-sharp drum work that builds up to a deliciously nasty finish. Its accompaniment is ‘Adam and Eve’, a punchy peak-time cut elevated by an energetic vocal, atmospheric pad and energetic melody line that has it begging to be dropped during a euphoric festival moment.
