"Fatherhood" is without a doubt the most personal, intimate track that I've ever created. While I want the song to be open to interpretation, it's a musical manifestation of my fears as a father. Originally, I intended to make this a heavy track with booming bass and screaming synths, but that obviously didn't happen. Instead, I found some inspiration from another soundtrack that I've been listening to a lot lately: the Elsinore OST. For those who don't know, Elsinore features a lot of period piece music, and I guess Adam Gubman must have rubbed off on me a little. Nonetheless, I'm pretty happy with the end result.

Fun fact: Super Mario 64 was my first console game.

Koopa's Theme (From "Super Mario 64")

Full disclosure: I've never heard of this game until a few weeks ago. After learning that the Pixel Mixers Cover Contest theme was hand-held games, I asked for some inspiration on Twitter. Thanks to Zarinah, I was able to find this track, and there was an appealing simplicity to the melody. I started playing around with a basic arrangement, and before I knew it, I had a song!

This track will not be available on the usual digital stores because of Nintendo's archaic attitudes toward video game music.

Unmask Final

I suppose this track was partly inspired by my recent trip to Scotland (especially the thumbnail). Strangely enough, I started composing this track four or five years ago, and just recently, I stumbled across it while looking through some old folders. I'm glad I was finally able to finish up the track as the melodies have stuck with me all these years.

Upon first listen, the artwork may not feel like it complements the music, but I imagine some sort of ancient advanced society being unearthed as I listen to the music, hence the name "Arcane". You can make of it what you will, but I hope you enjoy.
