Czarface (Wu-Tang Clan's Inspectah Deck & 7L & Esoteric) is back! Fresh off the heels of their “All In Together Now” collaboration with Marvel Comics (which was premiered by Pitchfork) the trio continues to combine music and art with their latest release A Fistful of Peril, which will be released on 11-4-2016.

The back story of this album begins in the summer while Deck and Esoteric were in the studio recording some new Czarface material. During this time Marvel Comics had reached out to Czarface wanting some music to soundtrack their Black Panther web series, promoting their breakout comic of the same name. This Marvel meeting spawned the lead track "All In Together Now" and served as the primary inspiration for a fleshed-out album that nobody saw coming. The group camped out in the studio playing beats, talking comics, video games, and pop culture....what came about was A Fistful of Peril.

Starting the album off with the ARP keyboard odyssey of "Electric Level 1" is like entering the vortex of color and light in Kubrick's 2001. The aptly titled "Two in The Chest" showcases Deck & Eso's ability to deliver punchlines and pop culture references with ease over an exceptional bass and guitar combo. "Czar Wars" has the two sparring back and forth bringing that 'X-Men/Danger Room' mentality that Deck often to refers to when in Czar-mode. Psycho Les of The Beatnuts steps in on "Dust" while "Lizard City" introduces 'Czarface Pajamas'. Yes, you read that correctly. The off-kilter "Steranko" has Meyhem Lauren and graffiti legend Rast RFC joining forces with Czarface as they weave their way through a mind-bending array of varying beats. Other features on the album include Conway The Machine on "Machine, Man & Monster" and AOTP's Blacastan on "Tarantulas." Another one of the album's highlights is "Dare Iz A Darkseid" (inspired by Deck’s in-stdio stories of being on the road with Red & Meth) which along with "Talk That Talk" is the perfect balance of wit and humor that make up the core of Czarface.

Building on an already rock solid foundation with two critically acclaimed albums, A Fistful Of Peril features some of the groups most cohesive material. The chemistry between the hungry-as-ever Deck and Eso overflows as the two emcees trade lines, humor and plenty of razor sharp lyrics over the backbone of 7L production.

Just hours after the relaunch of Payday Records, the iconic record label has released its first song “Our Streets” featuring legendary producer DJ Premier and A$AP Ferg, which is available today via digital retailers everywhere. “Our Streets” is the first song released by hip-hop and EDM pioneer Patrick Moxey’s newly relaunched record label. DJ Premier is reunited with former Gang Starr manager Moxey as the first artist to release music on Payday Records. 

“Our Streets” is a true New York hip-hop track, combining DJ Premier’s signature beats and A$AP Ferg’s versatile style to create a classic, raw and energetic sound. The song marks the first time the legendary DJ and rap star have worked together, despite both being prominent figures of the New York hip-hop scene for years. 

“It's a dream to be able to work with the legendary DJ Premier on this record” stated Ferg. “Preemo has worked with all the NYC hip hop icons and greats - Nas, Biggie, Guru, Hov, KRS-one, and The Lox. Just knowing I was working with him pushed me as an MC.” 

"With Ferg, or anybody I work with, they already know my history so they know that I come from the 90s era” DJ Premier said. “Ferg just automatically said 'Don't do what I've been doing on my albums - I want you to do a Preemo style and let me show I can rap to that,' so I was like 'let's do it.' Everybody was happy off jump - no suggestions, no 'I think we should go this direction' - it was an automatic in, out, done, in one day." 

“Our Streets” is available now, and is the first song released by the newly relaunched Payday Records. Patrick Moxey, who is the President and Founder of Ultra Records, Ultra Music and Ultra International Music Publishing, originally formed Payday Records in New York City in 1992. Payday was the first record label to sign Jay Z, releasing his first single “In My Lifetime” in 1995. Other artists signed to Payday throughout the 90s include Jeru the Damaja, Mos Def (via his first group U.T.D.), Showbiz & A.G., Group Home, Guru, WC and the Maad Circle and more. DJ Premier played an integral role in Payday throughout the 1990s, bringing artists like hip-hop duo Group Home and rapper Jeru the Damaja to Payday for release, and producing a number of the label’s biggest hits including “Come Clean,” and “Supa Star.”
