Ebende - Warmth

Sweden-based producer, Ulf Bonde makes a long-awaited comeback to Fantastic Voyage Records with a new minimal house EP titled “Handle It”. This record houses three original tracks and two deep remixes by Malin Genie and Wyro. 



With the exception of label owner Justin Jay, Ulf Bonde was the first artist to release music on the independent label. His 2016 “Brother Piña” EP became inspiration for Fantastic Voyage as it portrayed musical freedom, a playful nature, and came straight from the heart. Since then, the Stockholm producer has released music on notable labels such as Pets Recordings, Freerange Records, Room Temp, Bedrock Records, and AfroMove Music. 

"Handle It" EP is available next Friday, March 29th!

These were merely ideas, scribbles on paper, memories and moments. It was hard to define the context of one mans life into a body of focus, an idea in itself was not enough. It must be conceptual. This was not the first time that he’d attempted to build an accurate profile of a hero. He remembered the moments that they’d shared together long ago…

As he looked up from his seat, he watched the wanderers down on the beach, wading in the soft rippling waters. It all felt so long ago now. As if it had been another life. Perhaps that’s all it was…

This one is a little bit special. A spellbinding, emotional remix from Convextion as he reworks a track from ReKab into something delicate and remarkable. Tinged with poignant optimism this one has tears on the dancefloor written all over it.

2017 sees Dekmantel celebrating its 10th anniversary. A decade ago, the Amsterdam crew threw their first party in the Dutch capital; two years later Dekmantel Records followed. To celebrate this special occasion, the label will release ten EPs over the course of 2017 – every month one, starting in March, with the first EP dropping today - from artists that have shaped them into what they are today. On the bill are, amongst others, Ricardo Villalobos, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Fatima Yamaha, Legowelt, and Tom Trago.

For this series, Dekmantel invited producers who are close to their hearts, have been with them since day one or made a big musical impact on the crew. Amongst these are longtime friends like Juju & Jordash, Palms Trax, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Joy Orbison and Young Marco. Apart from these seasoned names, it’s with great pleasure to have welcome newcomers including Huerco S, Ectomorph, Shanti Celeste, Syracuse and Levon Vincent onboard. Last but certainly not least; a couple of stone cold geniuses will be responsible for a track on the series as well. Amongst them are Burnt Friedman, Donato Dozzy, Tony Allen, The Egyptian Lover and Ricardo Villallobos. 

The third EP in this series is from Novel Sound boss and New York techno don Levon Vincent, Dutch synth wizard Legowelt, plus label regulars Joey Anderson and Central. Vincent goes first with ‘Untitled’, a deep and rueful roller with his typically well crafted, future sounding synths and delicate glassy piano keys. Legowelt’s ‘Blue Austral Techno’ is as cosmic and spaced out a track as you would guess from the title and is perfectly blurry and analogue in design, while Anderson’s ‘Opened Gate’ is a deep and late night cut with jacking percussion forcing a groove as golden and majestic chords ring out into the night and truly zone you out. Last of all, Central impresses with his spacious sense of deep house groove, inventive textures and mixture of the synthetic with the organic in fresh new ways.

The mud is soaked after the heavy rainfall. It’s stormy but the new car you just purchased is in full automatic mode, cranking up the beats per minute formally unknown to the life of Susan. There are no goggles that will see through the fog ; no Granny Smith apple soup that summons the space before you. The wind turbines are blowing right in your face, but the elephant’s memory is better than it has ever been. That’s why DJ Swagger’s Green Waters explores the depth of the past, whilst crisply hovering over futuristic, transformed low-voiced samples that will most definitely build fires with nocturnal creatures. It’s quite safe to admire Susan’s step towards kebab eating binges and standard evening sessions.
The one-forty bpm exploration is furthered by Susan’s very own
Axefield, as he encompasses familiar sounds into a setting hitherto
unexplored within this realm. As the needle hits the 140 Trak, I begin to see an image of some kind of oil rig, digging deeper and deeper until it reaches the bottom of the sea level, delving straight into the nature and richness of oily oil. Right there, in that instance of discovery, the synthesised odour of recognition jumps right to the top of the surface, similar to a frog that is gasping for air. That frog, however, isn’t the only one in desperate need of oxygen. Our main man Raj was too. But that’s partly because he took a little too much of that good good. Flip the plate, fam. The B-Side is like waking up on a summery morning, firing up your old school desktop and being welcomed by that sound. You already know what Susan means with this one. And if you don’t, DJ Windows XP’s How Did You Know I Was Here will gently stroke your back until you feel comfortable enough to handle the waves that overflow your burnt coffee can, as the drop comes in like a banana falling upwards because gravity has most definitely now been defied. Raj, we ask you again: how did you know Susan was here ?

The sound floated softly upon the warm summer breeze as it drifted in from out at sea. Stood in the port he looked out as the boat approached from the distance, he could hear the sound of delicate Eastern arps on board and smiled joyfully as each note plucked and danced and echoed upon the air. The sun was high in the sky and the deep blue ocean reflected the glorious cosmos above. This was summer and it was finally here... 

Kassian are set to release a rip roaring EP on Shall Not Fade, a record destined for late night clubs and sun kissed dancefloors worldwide. This track was a favourite from an EP which has been on heavy rotation since we first received it.
