Another blast from the past. Organic Signs' second reference comes from a white label record found in Jan Swam's collection. Positive Recreational Soundsystem is another aka for A Positive Life (Stefan Pierlejewski & Liam Farrell). Under this name, they only release one EP, back in 1996. There are 2 original tracks and a remix we added to close the generational circle.

The considered king of analogue synthesizers Oberheim Matrix 12 is the base of this PRS EP. Side A - Son of The Rising House - is a 10 mins entrancing musical journey that will transport us to the optimism and joy of a sunrise in the free parties of the mid 90's, which were still resisting to enter the capitalist rules of the clubs. Side B1 - Encoded - features an FM oscillator from the Matrix 12, embarking us on a darker version of the rave, with modulated sounds closer to goa trance. Finally, the B2 - remix by Jan Swam - shows us a modern take on the A-side, using the original samples sent by Stefan and others from the legendary Yamaha RM1X. It is an 8 minutes rework in which he pays great respect to the original one, separating it into a first part with breakbeat rhythms and a second part with 4X4.

Sons of Achab are finally back with Alternative Hardcore: a four EPs series that will be released over the current  year on their own label Parmenides Records.  Working hard over the last three years, the band has  refined their sound around the 90s rock and  electronic music that shaped them.  At the same time, they went to explore new territories with an open-minded approach while taking advantage of modern production techniques.

The title of the series can be seen as an association of values that matter to the band. Alternative means freedom through independence and Hardcore refers to the radical  spirit our society pushes us in.  Have a good listen!
Alternative Hardcore EP1 will be out on 29th March 2024 on Bandcamp and the usual platforms, digital pre-orders starts on 13th March 2024 on Bandcamp.

Producer and composer CCTemple works from the sanctuary of his own machine and an application filled laboratory who also establishes a ‘real liberty’ of sonic and compositional ’invention. This is where his pseudonym takes on its full meaning : ‘CC’ for Control Change, digital/computerised terms by definition; and ‘TEMPLE’ for the strategic hearth where creative alchemy is developed, meditated upon and distilled.

With the help of I.O.T Records, he has decided to release his first solo album - the quintessence of his melodic and sonic experiments, the fruit of intense research on the sensitive implications of new methods of digital expression.

Upon listening to “First Exploration”, we find ourselves immersed in ambient, electronica, abstract-dub, or even synth-wave galaxies, but retain the overwhelming sensation that something more is at play here – an enigmatic suggestion whose trajectory is constantly being redrawn - defying the stylistic limitations of any given genre. And though this journey is underpinned by a certain logic, it is never predictable.

Let us gauge that this First Exploration, one that already holds us in its fragile, fascinating aura, shall foster many more constellations of energy… A unique approach despite these troubled times, when it is precisely this fecund power that we are lacking…

Selenicereus grandiflorus is native to the Greater Antilles, specifically the islands of Jamaica, Cuba, and Haiti. It can also be found growing among trees and rocks in countries across Central and South America, including Mexico, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Colloquially known as the “Queen of the Night”, Selenicereus grandiflorus produces majestic, nocturnally blooming flowers that open once a year before withering. When in annual bloom the flowers reach up to a foot in diameter and emit a fragrant vanilla aroma. The flowers are supported by a tangled mass of spiny stems that grow thicker and stronger with each annual flowering, and are sometimes harvested for use in homeopathic remedies to improve heart health. Due to the uniquely transient beauty of this cactus, Selenicereus grandiflorus is considered a rewarding addition to any collection.
