Live Session 2 - Ethereality ft. Akuro B2B allwack

Dubstep originated in south London throughout the early 2000s with artists such as Mala, Joker, Skream, Benga, Loefah, Burial, and more expanding it into a diverse art movement spanning several subgenres bound by a unique melancholic aesthetic. With this stream we will explore those modern musicians influenced by this form of Dubstep via their contributions to the descendant subgenre "deep dubstep." Additionally, we will be paying homage to some of the legends themselves via our favorite throwback tracks that helped inspire us to create music in the first place. See you in the cavern...

Live Session 3 - Cavernous ft. Akuro B2B allwack

The pair of us have always considered ourselves enthusiasts of a wide spectrum of electronic music, and the subgenre of dubstep is no exception. While last month we explored the darker and moodier roots of dubstep, this weekend we will explore what is deemed the polar opposite of said roots. This week's livestream is curated with the heaviest, loudest, and most abrasive forms of dubstep that we enjoy in the modern electronic music scene. We will supplement such intensity with a variety of experimental tracks that are ripe for being played out in the stadium, festival, and large venue environment. Consider this the musical equivalent of breaking a fire hydrant open and attaching a hose; this is Mainline.

The edge between the familiar and unknown is where we venture for this month's livestream. Along this boundary within electronic music, we will explore various sub-genres defined by the leftfield, experimental, and freeform production trends of bass-centric artists. Definitive favorites from this area include Eprom, Chee, G Jones, Tsuruda, Peekaboo, and many others; however, we will simultaneously be rinsing music from the underground trap scene and from artists with sound design deemed alien in nature or with abnormal flow. Strap in for a voyage to the outer limits.

The as far back as the 1980s, an empty warehouse was considered the quintessential setting for rave parties everywhere from Chicago all the way to the United Kingdom. Out of all the electronic genres that have made an appearance in the darkness, none embody the industrial nature of raving origins quite like Drum and Bass. Instead of returning directly to the 1990s, this month's livestream will primarily explore a new wave of underground D&B producers that have successfully improved upon and invigorated the genre in modern times. We hope to see you all, once more, in the warehouse.

This track is a bit of a Frankenstein. Sometimes when writing tracks its better to leave the intro as an after thought if your mind is racing for ideas on the drop, and then other times you just can't seem to write a drop for a cool intro you've made. You can often find connections between totally separate ideas and do some surgery to put them together.
