Put The Kettle On Love

In the garden it all began 
Holding tight to my grandmothers hand  
Flowers a plenty and Herbs all around 
This is where my future was found. 

I see her work her magic as 
each neighbour comes by 
Chamomile brings calm 
To those who need to cry 

Broken hearts , broken minds 
For every ache she’s quick to  find 
A remedy strong and pure 
Never stumbles always sure 

They called her witch They cursed her name 
Her power they could never tame , even when they threatened flame, I only hope I’ll be the same 

In her hands the hidden truths 
nurtured roots that never die
Her healing comes from the earth 
under the wide and moonlit sky

She smelled like mint and lavender 
As she filled each precious canister 
Each plant holds a special  power 
And We lovingly harvest their beautiful flowers 

Little hands in the basil and thistle
secrets in this meadows hum
Grandma's tales as old as the moon
Herbs and flowers teach where we come from

Healing hands and burning sage
Sounds of drums from an ancient age
Dancing spirits around the drum 
People and plants together as one
