Unsere heutige Afterhour wird begleitet von der fröhlich-frischen Frohnatur @alma_linda. Alma wirbelt bereits seit einiger Zeit in der Berliner Veranstaltungsszenerie umher und verleiht jeder Party als Bookerin aber auch als DJ  auch musikalisch bunte Spritzigkeit. 

So fällt auch dieser Mix abwechslungsreich aus, stets wandelnd zwischen smooth-swaggingen und slow-progressiven Rhythmen, garniert mit der richtigen Prise Vocals. 

Dieses Set ist zum Schwelgen, Knutschen und Tanzen. Also schaltet ein und schaltet ab, Bühne frei für @alma_linda und dann hoffentlich auch bald wieder live und in Farbe. Der Sommer hat gerade erst begonnen…

Newly hatched from the Easter egg: My recording of the @menschmeier_berlin opening. How I love to wallow in these memories. The first time in months at a club without a mask, drops of sweat from the ceiling, up close encounters, dance ecstasy! It was a dream - a refuge in times when the world is upside down. A small moment to recharge batteries, to forget what hurts, to bathe in joy. Thank you, Meier, for this Safer Space. Especially after the experiences of the last months I appreciate you more than any other place! Thank you for this terrific line-up! Thank you for the sunrise slot in the theater. Thank you @ramschakl for this spectacular sanctuary miracle that you created full of love and skill. And of course, thank you to all the laughter, screams of joy, all the love on the dance floor! It was one for the books ❤️

I remember how precious Mira's birthdays have always been to me. There she was, this radiant queen, celebrating life and music with an exquisite line-up every year. She was one of my first role models and I secretly wished I could follow in her footsteps one day too. Never would I have dreamed of one day even being able to play at her birthday party! THANK YOU MIRA for this invitation! Thank you for holding my hand before the gig - God I was nervous! And THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for this great booking. It was an additional feast for me to see so many strong, talented and awesome women on the line-up. I haven't danced so much in ages ;)
THANK YOU also to ALL the people who were there and danced with an incredible passion. My intention is to give unconditional love for the dance floor - sometimes a rare commodity in these times. ALMA und MIRAs 44,5 KATZEN im ACIDBOGEN

I am infinitely grateful for this opportunity to pour my heart, my worries, my anger but also my hope into sound and share it with you. This is probably the most personal set I have ever shared. I have processed a lot in the music. I guess the music speaks for me here, says what I usually can't find words for. Shares what sometimes feels so heavy and indivisible, and in doing so, lightens my load. But this is not about me, but about US. I hope I was able to plant some seeds that will give us strength for the challenges that lie ahead. I love you! Thank you for allowing me to share my vulnerability. From this I draw strength.

I finaly did it - my first set. It might not be perfect, but - as me - it isn't supposed to be. It's the result of the many enriching encounters I had with friends, family, musicians and artits over the past year. As my fears and insecurities become my teachers, i'm gently embracing my sweet imperfection.

Born between the good-natured mountains and the far-reaching seas of Chile, raised in Italy, England, France and Germany, music is and has always been the greatest companion, best friend and trusted love of the multi-faceted Catalina a.k.a. Alma Linda (@alma_linda). As a journalist, a filmmaker for Clubcommission Berlin, a member of 1000GESTALTEN and KYBELE (@kybelean), a curator for events at the cultural shelter MOOS or as a DJ, she wants to break down borders and built castles of hope and love. For her, in a world where our insecurities are turned into money, loving yourself becomes a political act. 

With an open heart and sharing soul, Alma Linda recorded this 118th edition in her appartment in Berlin, positively inspired by unfolding beauty of the universe. Regardless of its inspiration, the mixtape is covering a wide spectrum of atmospheres and styles, serving a fearless built-up, form head to toe. With certainty, after listening to her mixtape, we can add skilled-selector as Alma Linda's feature and we can see clearly djing as an experience of referencial consistency.

TRIBUTE TO SELFLOVE - Seebühne Garbicz 2018

In October, we released the  Hystereofônica  compilation, made only by women, and keeping this vibration, https://soundcloud.com/alma_linda , one of the artist-revelation present us with an amazing and powerfull set for TTRadio.

With this set, i tell  my story, the story of la loba. In my sets I always try to offer a safe space. A space, where you can be fully yourself. A place to lick your wounds, find love and new energy.  As Princess Nokia says in an interview for the Brown University: "I've used music as a tool to deal with so much drama and pain in my life. And it's the healthiest, most wonderful, most gratifying escapism I've ever had." So I hope you find a shelter in this little set, that comes straight from my heart! Also I would like to dedicate this set to my friends in Brazil! The world is blinded by believes, that want to tear us apart. But let's not forget, that in this shattered times, LOVE and CARE, for ourselves and others is what really matters.

Pink or blue? A rainbow ride by Alma Linda @voodoohop 10 anos na cachoeira

Fusion. Sunday 4pm in the „Räuberhöhle“. It’s the hottest day measured in 70 years. This is the day, where I’ll play for the first time on the one festival, which carved my life like no other, which repeatedly bestowed life upon me in the most miraculous ways. What I wanted for that day, is to contribute my part, give back what was given to me, in gratitude: to the Fusion, to the „Räuberhöhle“. I wanted to play a political set, showering you all with freedom and love as my beloved collective „Liebe ist ein Mischgetränk“ stood by my side drained in sweat.

I am 20 minutes into my set when the news arrived. A person was found dead in his tent. Alongside with the news, the music was collectively turned off on the whole festival for 15 minutes – fifteen minutes of silence. From exhilaration to total silence. We fall quiet, we look at each other, we cry.

Everything is always happening simultaneously. Life and death, utter ecstasy and endless grief. The dance floor, to which I promised my heart and passion, is more than a floor to dance on: it’s life itself. It contains all and everything! If as an artist I had a wish, I’d wish for everybody to feel like being able to remember instead of forget – to feel that my music and the dance floor are a safe space for remembering, in care, in tenderness, in honesty. Because everything is always happening simultaneously, is always true simultaneously.

Because of this I decided to let my set begin with these 15 minutes of silence – fifteen minutes to remember, to allow for grief, to allow for pain; and, to allow for letting go. Let us be aware of one another and let us take care of one another. This we do by sharing our fears and doubts and grow with them, on them, next to them: Don’t give up! Thank you!

I remember my first time at this magical place: A bay of dreams and hopes filled with the joy and music of the @vollschoen crew - and the instant feeling of finally being home. Back then I didn’t dare to follow my passion and play music - I was to scared of failing in what meant (and still means) life to me. But life took its turns and gently forced me in to LIVING my LIFE instead of trying to fulfill the expectations of images of a worthy person in this society.
Thank you @tobidei for the tender encouragement, the endless smiles and tears of joy your music and your humble being gave me. Thank you Voll Schön Crew and Bucht for the home, love and dedication you gave not just me but so many of us over the past years.
So this set is a homage to you!

Santiago was burning when I arrived at Nomad Festival in February. Just a few days earlier I had experienced the suffering on the streets rearing up in raw force.  So how could I, as an artist and exiled Chilean, not only exist with my worries and fears at a festival, but even make them a part of it?  By accepting, living and sharing the ambiguity of the two experiences.

I firmly believe that dance floors offer a shelter, not only to forget, but also to remember.  To allow pain.  To dance it out.  Because the times we live in challenge us to deal with the paralysing despair we are facing anywhere we look.  They challenge us to confront the fear-soaked conservatism that’s taking over our world.  They challenge us to keep fighting those who despise women, who fear same-sex love and who destroy our planet. 

Today more than ever, we need each other!  May we find the strength and love to fight the battles of our time, while always carrying peace in our hearts.

Hey loved ones,

We are facing challenging times. And some of us over the world suffer them way harder then some others. Especially in countries where this corona crisis is coming hand in hand with repercussions from right wing conservative governments. There, we dedicate this set to LOVE, DIVERSITY and FREEDOM. Let us remember the strength and energy, with which we occupied the streets of this world. Even if this night seems quite too long – the voices of our freedom will illuminate the firmament.

Alma Linda is an upraising DJ and Live Act from Berlin. In her unique and powerful sets full of special and unexpected transitions she blends rhythms, cultures and musical memories together. In her musical storytelling she delivers intimate stories right from the bottom of her bare soul. Arabic drums, hip hop, funk and soul music unite with downbeats, slowdisco, deep-, tech- and minimal house - you name it.
