The sheer strength of the trees with breezes rustling through the leaves. Surrounded as if in a cacoon of changing aromas, heightening the senses and all the time hearing gentle whispers, as the trees convey their thoughts.....

'The Long Climb Down' is a mixed genre track inspired by my past hill climbing days. The exhilaration and peacefullness on reaching the top and then the sometimes lenghly journey back down, tired but still running on adrenaline. And so the piece is in four sections. Going up - reaching the top - going down - walking home fullfilled.

'Echos In The Wind' is a Fusion track inspired by the perpetual coming and goings, dramas and ceaseless movement of life in my garden. Plants, animals, fish, insects and trees all involved in this continual cycle of birth and death. It's no wonder I spend half of my day in my garden.

The word 'Isnae' in the title is from the Old Scots dialect and simply means 'Isn't'

It is indeed a sad inditement that the "human" race allows and perpetuates such horror and atrocity. 
Children having limbs amputated without the use of anesthetics and left orphaned. 
My heart crys with them and for them.

Now retired from a life 'on the road' as a freelance keyboard player, I compose and record in my home studio, situated in the Carrick Hills in Southern Scotland. My music is mainly instrumental in nature and is a reflection of my life experience, sometimes real and sometimes imagined.
My influences are many and I have quite probably been shaped by listening to the very many "giants" of music, both players and composers. From classical to contemporary jazz and everything in between. My main instrument is the keyboard, whether that be piano or synth. But I also play banjo, flute and percussion. I have a special relationship'with bass, whether upright or electric and use virtual and synth basses from numerous sources, but mainly Trilian by Spectrasonics.
