To explore the colourful world of sounds and music, we invited 13 artists this time, resulting in 10 highly individual and captivating songs. Each song represents a colour and together they form a rainbow-like work of art. In addition the selected titles contains an incredible number of different styles and facets. Counting Colours represents diversity in miniature and has something for every musictaste. We invite you all to dive with us into a fabulous world of frequencies and to count the colours that come to your mind while listening to the music.

Wille is a Danish electronic artist, a true househead who describes his style as a ‘futuristic nostalgia,’ an experiment in taking up various styles and genres (disco, italo, acid, jazz, deep house) and imagining their alternative evolutions and cross-pollinations.
 
’Bilancia Nero’ is his latest alternative take on the glitz and analog glamour of 1980’s Italo disco, with an acid twist. 
 
He says: "I'm somewhat obsessed with reimagining the past, and the idea of tracing back the steps of how music evolves with technology, and how it might have evolved differently. Nothing new in combining styles, but the art of it, I think, is making it seem like the marriage between genres is obvious, as if Italian electro was always supposed to have acid synthesizer leads".
 
The b-side ’Bilancia Vero - Dance Mix’ is not so much a remix as it's own track, building a new structure around the percussive elements of the former, swapping out his 80’s penchant for a more polished digital sheen, leading us towards the dance music and piano house anthems of the 90s.

Steve Sibra is no newcomer to the French electronic music scene. Active since 1999, he has already released several albums and around forty EPs. 
Originally from Paris but now based in Montpellier in the south of France, Steve is a radio man. For many years, he hosted Laboratoire Sonore on Montpellier 91 FM, where he welcomed the cream of international artists to his show. 

Steve joined the Brique Rouge team in 2022 and, in just a few releases, has risen to become one of the core artists shaping the label's sound. He brings his inimitable touch of melancholic deep techno and melodic, cinematic soft house, sometimes infusing it with a strong electro influence and a few experimental touches. The quality of his productions having won over everyone who listened to them, it was only natural to (finally) offer an album that allows listeners to enter Steve's dancefloor universe.  

And what an album! With 21 tracks, it's more than an adventure, it's a huge sonic trip that draws you in from the very first track and takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions, vibrations, and sensations that doesn't let go until the very last track. It's a coherent universe, where every note is weighed for a minimalist approach to a melodious groove. 

Sometimes leaning towards “sunset music,” sometimes towards a slightly darker melancholy, Telepath Voodoo leaves no one indifferent, and each listen brings its own set of details and surprises.  So listen to it loud, listen to it on headphones, listen to it while dancing or meditating, but let yourself be carried away on this long journey that Steve Sibra offers you.  Undoubtedly one of the most important French House and Electronic artists of the moment.

Created in 1999 by David Duriez, the independent French label Brique Rouge continues to promote the electronic sound that David has always believed in and defended. Far from the formatting and excessive vulgarity of the current electronic scene, the label promotes an eclectic electronic sound that remains rooted in the underground and, above all, in a clubbing vibe.  In general, the artists on the team are given carte blanche, and it is above all the spirit that counts. The label does not seek success; it is a success. The success of being able to release music without compromise. With one release per week on platforms since 2020, the label (and its divisions RZ Muzik & Obliqu3) is seen as a key player in the French underground electronic scene due to its activism.

Mexican label Duro is back with a new release by Etcha. The latter delivers a menacing, soundtrack-inspired piece of italo-iosh dancefloor drama on the lead track, which Bird of Paradise then turns into a fierce industrial rhythm-heavy workout.
"Operation Oskar Panizza" on the flip still retains some of that cinematic flavour, but is instead channelled through a dusty, left-field house soundscape. Marvin & Guy wrap up the package there, by taking this track into more familiar club territory, via insistent synth stabs, crunching drums frenetic arpeggios.

Just after releasing 'Solidify' on Le Temps Perdu, STATUE (Tom Gould) has become a cornerstone of this years, 'Summer Riot VIII' compilation commissioned by purveyors of good groove, Futureboogie. 'Ivory' is a shining collage of live percussive work and ‘hands in the air’ piano and organ motifs, driven by its steady house rhythm. 

Futureboogie's eighth annual Summer Riot compilation EP is an eclectic gathering of producers and tracks that fittingly encapsulate the current balmy vibes and a summer load of festivals and parties already behind us.
