M-Eighty "Money on My Mind" featuring Nino Graye, Wade & DJ ZIK [GLASS CITY]

The opening track off my National debut "The Expert Explosive". Prior to this national release I had released 9 albums and mixtapes locally in Indianapolis, IN & Toledo, OH.  The Expert Explosive was sold in stores throughout the midwest in 2001-2002 and really solidifed me as a rising factor amongst the then dismal Indianapolis Music Scene. "Magnum Force"

"Love Hop" was the 2nd single of 'Snakes in the Garden of Eighty" released in 2003.  Interesting fact about this album, I came up with the title while serving prison time in Wabash Valley Correctional Facility and had also written the entire album while serving time. Upon release, I scraped everyone song written while incarcerated and rewrote the entire album based off the beat selections and my thoughts and feelings post incarceration. "Love Hop" tells the story of my love for the Artform while citing numerous inspirations.

In 2002 I had the opportunity to open up a couple concerts in Indianapolis for the likes of Killah Priest, Cappadonna, LA the Darkman, and Remedy and thats how the Wu-Tang connection began.  From those shows, I would go on throughout 2003-2004 to travel across the USA with various members of the Clan including Mef, GZA, Ghostface, and more.  

This song was recorded live with Killah Priest in NYC at Planet 2 Planet Studios in Manhattan. That day we recorded "Romantic Gun" and "Champions" w/ Dreddy Kruger. As excited as I was to have made a dream come true through the recordings, I was still trumped that day as Rhymefest later invited me Mark Ronson's studio where Fest, the late ODB, and Q-Tip recorded "Build Me Up" that same night. hahahahahahahaha!

M-Eighty feat. Killah Priest "Romantic Gun" -The 11the Hour (2004)

In 2004 I met both RZA and Dreddy Kruger. It was these separate meetings that led to the formation of Think Differently Music Group and my involvement. During the years I lived in California where I attended Law School and in the Summers I lived in New York. I remember the day we got the rough draft from RZA and how all over the place the beat sounded. Definitely wasnt a fan upon first impression. After RZA laid his verses and MF Doom did his thing the track was an obvious lead off single for what would become the 2nd highest selling independent album of the year in 2005, Wu-Tang Meets the Indie Culture.

This has and always will be my favorite track off the Wu-Meets Compilation. It was my first day working int he studio with Dreddy at Planet 2 Planet. U-GOd had just wrapped up and Sean Price just arrived. I had just seen Boot Camp rock in San Fran a couple weeks prior so Sean and I had a lot to talk about. He went in the booth, killed that shit and that was that. Presevation came through with one of my favorite beats I've ever heard from him here. "Still Grimy"

Bronze Nazareth's "The Great Migration" was an amazing experience to be a part of as we worked through my 2nd summer in NYC alongside Dreddy Kruger and Think Differently Music Group. Hearing "The Pain" for the 1st time really made me feel like Bronze was on some next level shit and years later he has proved time and time again for that to hold true. 

"The Pain" to me makes Bronze the Rocky Balboa of rap! Watch out!

Bronze Nazareth "The Pain" -The Great Migration (2006)

Think Differently in association with Holy Toledo Productions and Guerilla Union constructed the Official Rock the Bells 2006 Compilations that were provided to concert goers at the California festival which included material from the Wu-Tang Clan, Redman, Blackstar, De La Soul, Del the Funky Homosapien, Living Legends, Murs, Self Scientific, and many more!

As of my favorite emcee's in the game, I picked this Redman joint for the fans to enjoy. 

Redman "The Saga Continues (Da Countdown)" -Rock the Bells Compilation (2006)

Both "Iconoclasts" feat. Vast Aire & "Associated" feat. GZA served as singles from this amazing debut from the Bronze Nazareth led group "The Wisemen".  This interesting partnership between Kings Row Music / Think Differently / Babygrande produced an amazing album that I feel any group would be proud to call their national debut. Other features on the album included Planet Asia, Prodigal Sunn, and more. 

The Wisemen feat. GZA "Associated" -Wisemen Approaching (2007)

The lead off track from Priests' 2008 release "Behind the Stained Glass" produced by Kount Fif is truly my favorite joint on this album.  As Priest was finishing everything for this album, we were working very closely on the preparation for the Almighty album which would be released soon thereafter.  

Priest recorded more than 40 tracks during the span of the BTSG recordings in which 16 made the final cut and I know my opinions on what was and was not album worthy was definitely valued. Funniest thing about this album is how Priest let this dickhead named Tommy remove Priests' real album credits and simply put 1 line saying Priest thanks Tommy and some of Tommy's wack ass friends...anyone who owns the physical album knows what I'm talking about...hahahahahaha. 





Killah Priest "I Believe" -Behind the Stained Glass (2008)

As an artist there isn't a greater feeling in the world than walking into a Best Buy and picking up an album with your name on it.  This album was the 1st time I could do that as an artist vs. as an A&R.  

The origins of this album date back to November 3, 2007, my 26th Birthday. Killah Priest  and I made our way to Indianapolis from California for my annual M-Eighty bday bash and the next day we recorded a few tracks that would lay the foundation for the Almighty album. After recruiting Bronze Nazareth, C-Rayz Walz, Son One, and 5-star we had the group infrastructure and I spent the next 8 months building the album (features, producers, recording sessions) as I traveled all over the USA including California. New York, Chicago, Detroit, Texas, Indianapolis, Virginia, and Atlanta during the making of this album. 

We signed with Babygrande records and the album was released in the summer of '08 with "Handle the Heights" taking the #1 position on the UGHH Top 40 charts & "Obey" feat. Planet Asia topping out at #17 on the CMJ's. 

All and all, all personal bias to the side, this album was one of the best HIP-HOP albums of 2008!

Almighty feat. Canibus & Keith Murray "Handle the Heights" -Original S.I.N (2008)

This was HUGE for me coming right off the success of ALMIGHTY. Finally, M-Eighty working on a member of the Wu-Tang Clan's album after my extensive work with Killah Priest, Bronze Nazareth, and the likes.  "Alphabets" displays the lyrical dexterity and grimy story telling from the GZA I admire. 

Depending on when and where you bought this album you may or may not have a copped a copy that has my name in the credits. See around this time Babygrande and Dreddy Kruger (Think Differently) were at odds over certain monies owed or yet to be paid, scheduling etc and Babygrande had made a very very SIZEABLE offer for M-Eighty to step in in lieu of Dreddy and deliver some very valuable products their way.  As a loyal person, I told Dreddy of this and instead of him thanking me for informing him he lost his cool and didn't view my loyalty in the same light as he felt the student was beginning to out grow the teacher for Babygrande to make such a prominent offer for me to carry on the TDMG brand under their wing without Dreddy.  

From that day forth, Dreddy and I haven't worked on a single project together. Dreddy has since worked alongside Folk & Stress & the 67 Mob and the student definitely became the new Master as my works to follow included releases from Canibus, Keith Murray, Timbo King, Kurupt, and many more! 

Tracks / features recorded for this album that didn't make the final product included: Killah Priest, Sean Price, and Mos Def which time didnt permit for. 

GZA / Genius "Alphabets" -Pro-Tools (2008)

The final track off "Hymns, Psalms, & Street Songs" featured an all-star roster of known and upcoming cats from throughout the USA including Cappadonna, C-Rayz Walz, Sav Killz, DJ Cool Hand Lex, The Cleptoz, Corleone, Son One, and of course, ME. 

Walz and I had just got down recording "Thats Whats Up" when I asked the engineer at Surf Records to play the beat for Posse Cut. Walz instantly wanted to hop on it before I even had the chance to tell him the concept or anything and he definitely put the icing on the cake.  

Hymns, Psalms, & Street Songs was my first opportunity to tour the USA without being a support act as I had in the past on other tours with the likes of Wu-Tang, Rhymefest, etc as I headlined dates in Indy, Chicago, Austin, Toledo, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New Jersey, NYC, and more. 

M-Eighty feat. Cappadonna, C-Rayz Walz, Sav Killz, & More "Posse Cut" -Hymns, Psalms...(2007)

WOW! This album was crazy from a behind the scenes aspect. Bronze had released 2 volumes of Thought for Food in between The Great Migration and School for the Blindman (2011).  

See the thing with most labels and label deals for new artists is that the labels assume the artist will sign anything because the artist needs the label. What Babygrande didnt consider was that for every record I work on we entertain offers from 3-7 labels and pick the best all around offer from there.  So we did the deal with Babygrande and they came short on the bread so we took the album to Sound Records & Entertainment and parlayed a deal for Bronze, 60 Second Assassin, The Wisemen, The Academy, & The Undergods and it wasn't until the pre-order money started to come in from the Sound Records promotions that Babygrande made right with us and eventually released the double disc version of TTF. Babygrande also severly fucked up the credits of this album...hahahahahaha

"The Dopest" is a perfect jumpoff point for the listener and hence why I chose this track to represent the release. 

Bronze Nazareth "Dopest" -Thought for Food Volume II (2008)

I began working on the Academy in Seattle while working on the Undergods LP with Canibus & Keith Murray. Between working on the Undergods, making arrangements for the Academy, brokering show productions back home in Indianapolis and enjoying the scene in Seattle I was definitely getting every bit out of my 24 hour days.  

Casual is by far my favorite member of Heiro and I think his verse on "Wu-Meets the Indie Culture" is his best verse of all time. Pro the Leader is a lot like me. Just your average guy trying to win in this Hip-Hop world and he definitely puts his all into it and is a real down to earth dude. I chose this track to represent "The Academy" because as the track title would suggest, getting money off rap is quite a beautiful thing.

Pro the Leader x Warcloud x Novakane x Atlantis Scrolls comprise "The American Poets 2099" a california based group of emcee's displaying diverse lyricism and a passion for Hip-Hop.  The album features guest spots from Killah Priest, Timbo King, C-Rayz Walz., Solomon Childs and more!

The single "Heavy Smoke" was also featured on the Academy V1 and the AP2099 currently have several videos available online featuring C-Rayz Walz (new poet member), Christ Bearer (North Star), and 2Mex.

I could write an entire book about the day to day madness I had to go through to literally make this album from scratch. Perhaps some of the books highlights would be when 60 Sec thought I tried to posion him when he found a piece of harm in his cheese pizza, or the time when I had to lock the door to my office when I thought he was going to kick it down and try and stab me while I was on a conference call with Babygrande, or any other day on this hilarious advernture. 

The track "M.O.A.N" represents the reunion of Sunz of Man with all 4 members doing the damn thing over a Bronze Nazareth beat and Hell Razah really slamming a home run at the end to polish off the diamond.

60 Second Assassin feat. Sunz of Man "M.O.A.N" -Remarkable Timing (2010)

Reverse Polarity Studios headed by The Architect introduced me to Chopp when Canibus and I flew to Miami for a concert. Canibus and Chopp cut this track live at the studio and Rock was later recruited for the joint. Everything about Architect, Chopp, and Reverse Polarity was a solid and provided for a lasting relationship in the arts and Hip-Hop dominance. 

Other features on the Hip-Hop Renaissance included Killah Priest, Pacewon, C-Rayz Walz, Planet Asia, Spice 1, M-Eighty, and more.

This album was released on 101 Distribution in 2010. 

Chopp Devize feat. Canibus & Rock (Heltah Skeltah) "Face the Music" -Hip-Hop Renaissance (2010)

On The Wisemen's 2nd offering, they decided to once again go with the assistance of a fellow Clansmen by recruiting Raekwon for the single "Thirsty Fish".  The Kevlaar 7 produced beat comes out thumping with potent verses from everyone who touches the mic.  

A couple videos accompanied this release as did the former project with "Wisemen Approaching"

FUN FACT: Instead of Matthew "M80" Markoff for A&R Administration I am credited here as Eddie Malcovich III. I told Bronze to write that in the credits since Babygrande / Ihiphop weren;t the biggest M-Eighty fans at that time and I didn't want to have my name removed from another album like Babygrande & Dreddy did me on GZA's "Pro-Tools...hahahaha



The Wisemen feat. Raekwon "Thirsty Fish" -Children of a Lesser God (2010)

After collaborations throughout my life with the WU including Masta Killa, Killah Priest, Cappadonna, Bronze Nazareth and A&R workings with the entire Clan and extended fam, blessing this joint produced by and featuring RZA for my album was definitely a gift.  

Taking Back Whats Mine served as a collabo compilation in which 90% of the album features guest appearances from the likes of RZA, Killah Priest, Redman, Rhymfest, Gucci Mane, Canibus, Keith Murray and more is also hosted by DJ Vlad and is a great album for new M-Eighty fans unfamiliar with the catalogue and die hard fans alike as the album is divided evenly between older and new material.

M-Eighty feat. RZA & Solomon Childs "3 Degrees" -Taking Back Whats Mine (2011)

One of the last joints recorded for the album that almost didnt make the cut for whatever reasons...this track is pure dopeness to me and I applaud DJ J-Ronin of All-Elements for linking Timbo and Lil Fame of M.O.P (who produced this track) together and allowed them to make a classic. 

Funny thing about this album was how long it took to make...2+ years is waaaay to long and I definitely gave Timbo shit about it all the time in light of when we first announced the project and how long the fans had been waiting even prior to the announcement. 

The video for this song was recently added into rotation on MTV2 and Sucker Free Sundays. Props Timbo. Very proud of you

Timbo King "The Autobiography of Timothy Drayton" From Babylon to Timbuktu (2011)

Got Damn!!! This song was POWERFUL! The video came out amazing. WE got love from Mtv, VH1, BET, every blogsite in the World and more!  Snoop did commercials for us, Strange Music, Wu-Tang, Slaughterhouse, etc...seems like everyone whose real in Hip-Hop came out to support this record whether it was on wax or on camera.

Terminal 3 is a production squad based out of Hawaii and Japan led by JP Beats and Marlon Price. These guys have some serious talent and produced every track on this compilation which we crafted in similar fashion to the same creative juices that produced "Wu-Tang Meets the Indie Culture".  If you don't own this album, please do yourself a favor.

Terminal 3 feat. Raekwon, Kurupt, & Kojoe "Samurydas" -The Academy V2 (2011)

Kurupt and I met sometime in 2009 in Indianapolis. From there I would head out to Cali once every few months, stay at the Home of the Dogg Pound General, and work on music with him.  We would work on the HRSMN album, the Academy, and then there was this digital only release displaying the talent on Kurupt's new label venture "Penagon Records" for which I serve as the label's A&R. 

Massacre Central was a BIG record in Southern California with a unity feel between the gangs and opposing sets. It was apparent to me quick that Kurupt is truly the Kingpin of LA as rivals from all factions would go out of their way to show love to the DPG representative.
