Marco Passarani is one of Rome’s most influential figures in electronic music, celebrated for his innovation, collaborations, and lasting impact on the scene. Beyond his acclaimed work as a DJ, he has distinguished himself as a producer, distributor with Finalfrontier, and mentor at the Red Bull Music Academy. His rich and eclectic discography includes releases on labels such as Running Back and Peacefrog, while his Tiger & Woods project breathed new energy into boogie and italo. His music has even earned remixes from Ricardo Villalobos and Autechre.

Passarani has taken his sound to some of the world’s most iconic venues, including Berghain, Fabric, and Razzmatazz, as well as major festivals like Sonar, Primavera Sound, and Coachella. In recent years, he has released albums on Offen Music and AUS Music, launched the Unrelatable label, and geared up for the February 2025 debut of his latest venture, Studiomaster. His recent work for labels such as Libertine Records and Klakson, along with fresh Tiger & Woods singles, reaffirms his commitment to innovation.

With Studiomaster, Passarani continues to push creative boundaries, delivering forward-thinking sounds for the dancefloor. In essence, he remains a true luminary of electronic music-a dynamic artist whose prolific career and vision continue to inspire new generations.

Recording of my DJ set at Club der Visionäre on August 12th. Unfortunately, the original recording was clipping quite a bit, so I re-recorded parts of the set. I had a bit too much fun, got carried away, and didn’t fully stick to my track list from that night 🫠. Hope you still enjoy it! DJ HISTORY: "Murf’s journey began in 1983, immersed in early Electronic sounds and Electro - Often described by peers as the Yoda of Techno, Murf brings a wise, measured approach to his craft – deeply rooted in the foundations of Electronic music. Murf’s reputation was built through appearances at seminal venues and events including Glastonbury Festival, Kerfuffle, Final Frontier, Club UK, Tresor, Berlin, Global Ark, Japan, Compufunk in Osaka, and standout gigs in Tokyo, as well as Headroom at Alphabet in Brighton - Notably, he delivered a series of legendary 4-hour sets at Subterrain, The End, London".

INSPIRATION: "I tried to include a few trax peeps will know, and several lesser known bits from well known artists….I let some trax play for most of their duration, ‘coz you don’t hear ‘em out (in full) often, and it just felt right during the session..  I just went with the flow innit!"

A pivotal figure in the Sheffield scene and beyond, he's been in the game for years and has joined us as a Doodle guest for the last 3 of them.
On the 17th October, he'll make his 4th Doodle appearance at Die Cast.

The modern world moves fast. Too fast. There’s no need to go to the record store anymore - just download the Beatport Top 10. No need to spend years learning to beatmatch, the sync button’s got you covered. No need to train your ear for harmony, Rekordbox shows you the key. No need to think about timing, auto loops will make it fit. And who listens to a full mix anymore when algorithms reward 30-second clips? With every new feature, every software update, a little bit more of the artistry disappears.

Remember the days when DJs spent years digging through crates to find that one record that made them feel something. When you saved your hard-earned money to buy a piece of wax for your collection. When you learned to ride the pitch, to keep two tracks locked in time by feel alone. When you listened to keys, phrasing, and energy without looking at waveforms.

Mixing vinyl comes with imperfections, you hear the pitch drift when you nudge the platter, the dust crackling under the needle, the slight distortion as the record wears, the external FX falling just out of time.
