A little solitude a place of peace for you to hang out
But stay too long and you might find out why they call it the Scream

There is a creature here that hides in your peripheral vision
Normally dormant but here it can take on its true form
It hides in wait until we have a sense of inner peace
And then it shows it's full self in the horror of the midday sun

The village truly is a place of peace and solitude 
the creature didn't come from here we brought it here all on our own
Hitch hiking on our mind we had no way knowing that 
We'd turn this place into a village that is wholly filled with screams

The creature will take every memory you have of our world
There is no way back now your life behind is merely a dream
You try to run but can't you find your feet are stuck to the ground
It has pinned you in place its feeding on your brain

It feeds on memories till you can't think of your own name or
Whether you came from another place in time and space or right here
Where this thing is looming over you not letting you speak 
or talk or move you can't escape this hell you're in

You look around with your head in place only your eyeballs move
Slowly you see that the statues you noticed on your arrival 
Have the same look of fear on their face in their eyes as you do
With this thing looming over you
