The urban streets are alive with the tales of life and death. It can be a rough world, but there is also joy if you know how to live find it. Witness up and coming Chicago-land talent Alexander Ross. Known as ALO (“al-loh”), this young and talented MC has a message that is real, positive and from the heart. A rapidly growing local and Internet fan base is discovering this fresh new voice. This artist has the writing skills, cadence, delivery and flow to appeal to an extensive audience. His latest release, “Trendsetter”, has been featured on several of the Coast 2 Coast mixtape series hosted by artists such as Red Café, Yung Joc, Fat Joe, G-unit and many others. ALO and his group, the Enterprisers (featuring members Darren “Noelz (no-elz)” Levey and Christian “Young Bruus” Hughes) have received consideration from prominent industry executives, including Lenny Santiago, VP of Def Jam Records, Senator Skid of Bad Boy Records, Walter Randolph of Def Jam Interactive and Tony G of G-unit Records. Inspiration for ALO’s music comes from other prominent rappers like Jay-Z, Nas, Jadakiss, Biggie and Tu Pac, as well as dealing with some heavy life challenges. He’s been kicked out of his home and school, lost family members to drugs, disease and violence, and survived a drive-by shooting attempt on his life. In just the past year his girlfriend aborted his unborn child and he found out his mother has multiple sclerosis. Despite these losses he is motivated to bring his music to a mass audience. He treasures the lifelong support and inspiration from his mother who has taught him that life is too short to have any regrets. With the upcoming release of the mixtape “ALOHA”, ALO is following his heart and pursuing his dream to revitalize hip hop.
