To celebrate the end of Weekly Beats 2022 (been following? 52 tracks in 52 weeks) I decided to just go out on the biggest, most pretentious, progiest, swingiest way. I mean, why not? So over three weeks, released Cults of Symmetry: an intrumental musical, a story in 7 parts and 3 acts.

It tells a story, it is 20 odd minutes long, and frankly, I had a blast writing it

Happy 70th birthday Bowie, we miss you.
I composed this last year for GameFace's chiptune Bowie compilation which can be bought by clicking Buy above. You get a ton of ace tracks and all profits go to charity.

Days has been one of my favourite Bowie tracks. While I saw Bowie on his final tour in 2003 for Reality, I never paid much attention to the album, it wasn't until Adam Buxton played this on the Adam and Joe 6Music show some years later that it really tickled my ears. It's so simple and poignant yet bubbles with a calm resignation.

I stuck with my chiptune gear for everything bar the vocoded singing. Most of the synths are Midi NES and MGB on a GBA. Additional bass comes from the Shurthi-1

Miniature Explosions

think I've said it nearly every week, but damn, was this another busy one. Thankfully the weekend has been free for me to plugin and spend a few hours making my favourite bleeps.

This track wasn't hanging together very well for a long time, turned out I'd recorded the guitar parts in the wrong tuning, and also forgotten 'bass' existed. But hey! fixed it and it seemed to work out ok.
