Soaring amber violet skies darken to an onyx wine as they surrender their hue to the shadows. The sun sets, pupils dilate. The shift to primal instinct occurs. Predators prowl for prey. A sequence of stealth, centre, strike. Enter the void state; complete focus on that which is happening, that which is primitive, feeding on the vibrations...

Through Mydrasis, Bassic Records Label DJ Vorpal emphasises the psychedelic and techno foundations of Bassic, whilst injecting a darker driving energy. The boldness of the compilation is complemented by fierce attitude and a heavy slice of steez. The latest release on Madloch's Crossfade Sounds welcomes Argentine artist Nico Cassou for his label debut with the Spoken Words EP. Based in Buenos Aires, Nico first appeared in 2013 on sister label 3rd Avenue's We Are the Future (Fall 2013) compilation, before stepping away from production for nearly a decade. Now, after a long hiatus, he returns with his first solo EP, marking a fresh chapter in his career.

Featuring five originals — Momentary, Electric Vortex, Eco N' Deep, Little Dub, and Spoken Words — the collection explores a refined crossover between dub and deep techno, rich in hypnotic grooves and immersive textures. A confident return, Spoken Words EP signals Nico Cassou's re-entry into the scene with a sound that feels both matured and forward-looking.
