Mac McRaw - Lost cut’n’paste style mix from 2000

Created in 1990 using a Tascam 244 four track cassette recorder, a few reverb and delay fx units and a wide collection of vinyl, I created this ambient mixtape.
I gave a few copies of the mixtape to selected close friends but unfortunately we lost our copies over time... that is until recently, when a cd burn of the mix turned up in a friends collection 32 years later!

Welcome to the 'Sampled By' Daft Punk mix.

This mix explores the influences of Daft Punk using funky music from the 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's that influenced their biggest hit's.

For those who don't already know, Daft Punk are a French electronic music duo formed in Paris in 1993 by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter.

Their popularity grew in the late 1990's as part of the French house movement, combining elements of house music with funk, techno, disco, rock, and synthpop.

They wear fancy helmets and gloves to assume robot personas.

This is a fan created mix with fan created artwork to celebrate the genius of Daft Punk and is free for everyone to listen to and enjoy.

To describe Larry Levan here is an article from The Guardian:

"Larry Levan was the first superstar DJ. The first to really convince the world that there was more to DJing than just playing one record after another. For 10 years from 1977 to 1987, Levan was the star attraction at New York’s legendary Paradise Garage, writing himself into clubbing lore with swashbuckling DJ sets that took in minimal underground disco, funky rock, dub and synth-pop, which foreshadowed the house music revolution. At the same time, his uncanny ability to mix and tweak records for maximum emotional impact would regularly send his devoted congregation into raptures."

The mix has been put together using a 'Shooting from the hip' style of cut mixing and blending.
