Born in the shadow of the space program which often used Greek images and names for their engineering projects, Alphæus draws much of their thematic influence from the Space Program and surrounding areas. The space program is contrasted against the beautiful, but sometimes awesomely dangerous environment in Florida; where everything is out to kill you. During the shuttle program and the current rocket launches, the night sky is often set ablaze to the east; a testament to the area’s emphasis on innovation and engineering. The Florida heat and lush natural landscapes provide the perfect backdrop for the dystopian, conceptual vision portrayed in their debut album “APOPTOSIS”.  This project is the culmination of many influences. They proudly exhibit the eclecticism that can be expected from an internationally diverse locale like Orlando. 

          Alphæus’ debut album “APOPTOSIS”, is intended to be an offering just outside of the saturated tech-metal market. In less than 5 months after releasing the singles “Tosserlad” and “Causal Dysfunction”, Alphæus amassed over 40,000 followers on Facebook. The lyric video on youtube for Causal Dysfunction is quickly gaining views.  A quick look at their followers shows diversity and a global web-print that can only get larger.
