Underground rap trio Alpha Faktion have been hustling and building anticipation the past year for their next project, Creative Control. And today, all that hard work is clearly paying off with a banger of a lead single, “Creative Control,” produced by living rap legend Nottz.

For the uninitiated, the proudly independent group is made up of rapper/producer Azwun, rapper Kraze, and DJ Enyoutee, who had previous success as solo acts. They opted to join forces, however, and have been killing it together ever since. That much is evident throughout “Creative Control,” a neck-breaking anthem for any artist taking their career into their own hands.

Azwun and Kraze make their indie stance well-known throughout their verses, delivering bars like “I broke away from these chains/ man, these industry slaves/ They tried to manage, couldn’t handle the weight/ The wait’s over, motherf*cker/ Keep yo’ hands out the plate”; and “You look confused and I’m not surprised by the ignorance/ Force-feedin’ by hypocrites, team leaders, and simpletons.”

“Creative Control” is a mission statement and one hell of a way to kick off the rollout for their upcoming album of the same name. In addition to Nottz, the project boasts collaborators such as Marley Marl, Marco Polo, Planet Asia, DJ Spinna, and more. The single is now available for both stream and download through all major digital retailers.

Creative Control (prod. by Nottz) *Debut LP Is Now Available on CD!

For the latest release in his DJ Enyoutee Presents single series, New York producer and deejay, Enyoutee (of Alpha Faktion) links with hard-hitting D.I.T.C. affiliate Milano Constantine for the bruising “Flying Saucers.”

The track represents the fourth leak thus far from Enyoutee, who’s been working with various rappers and producers as part of the series. He produced the superbly grimy “Flying Saucers,” though, and will continue to drop bangers like this until Alpha Faktion releases their next project, 'Creative Control.' It’s expected to arrive in the second quarter of this year and boasts beats from living legends like Marley Marl, Ayatollah, Marco Polo, DJ Skizz, and Nottz.

When he’s not collaborating with lyrically adept emcees like Milano and “ridin’ high like flying saucers,” you can find Enyoutee hosting the No Ideas Original Radio Show, which he also founded. It runs every Saturday/Sunday night from 1 to 3 a.m. EST on 91.3FM in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Not to be outdone, Milano is keeping busy in 2017, too, by dropping a pair of indie projects this year. The first is The Believers, a collection of previously released, rare, and classic material; and the second is his highly anticipated collaboration with DJ Skizz, The Way We Were.

New York trio Alpha Faktion are back with their latest banger, “System Shutdown” off their long-awaiting new project, ‘Creative Control.’

Alpha Faktion, the hard-hitting New York rap trio comprised of Azwun, Kraze ILLA and DJ Enyoutee have officially taken back the reigns of their careers, and more importantly, their art with the recent release of their album 'Creative Control.'

The perfectly-crafted LP is brimming with raw, energetic Boom bap meant to push back the closing circle of new millennial commercial rap and take both the culture and art form back to basics with no filter, nor filler; even recruiting the legendary Marley Marl to pay homage on “The Lineage.”

On their latest single, “The Shining,” Alpha Faktion, joined by D.I.T.C.-affiliated wordsmith Milano Constantine, are looking for perspective masked by a looming dark cloud. Despite the pressures of life’s ills, the group is carefully calculated, never reaching the point of breaking their moral barometer, but still accepting the iniquities that linger, as Azwun spits “The deafening night's everyday of my life / Even in daylight, the darkness is hugging me tight,” while Vherbal’s sinister production helps match the tone.

It’s an on-going battle between darkness and light, and on “The Shining,” the three NY-based emcees are looking to shift the balance toward the latter. Upstate New York rap crew Alpha Faktion embrace the roots of Hip-Hop and connect with one of the culture’s most legendary contributors on “The Lineage,” produced by the one and only Marley Marl.
