We might be halfway through 2023 already, but Toolroom are still kicking out the club heat for their 20th year in the game. Up next on the firm, is the return of longstanding label favourite Friend Within with his rolling Tech House banger ‘Pilka’. Having landed 2 of the hottest tracks on Toolroom last year with ‘Monkey Bars’ and ‘Bring It Down’ which saw sweeping support flood in from across the scene, including Paul Woolford (Special Request, Salute, LF System, Dom Dolla and many more, Friend Within is officially back for 2023!

An artist who is already had a belter of a year, having dropped releases on underground club imprints Unknown To The Unknown and Shall Not Fade locked in already this year, alongside an outing on Noizu’s imprint Techne, it’s safe to say that Friend Within is a prolific producer
in every sense of the word!

Dialling back the vocal melodies on ‘Pilka’, Friend Within drops a more groove-focused record for his first release on the label this year, pushing forward a playful synth hook that builds and builds throughout the record, before dropping into an adrenaline fuelled workout that’ll for
sure ignite any festival main stage or nightclub alike.
