"Sense there is something in the air...I am the beginning and the end...I am the Talking Wolf."

This is a jam session I was really itching to have! It's basically a groove from the songs "There is something in the air" and "Killer" by Greek rock band Socrates Drank the Conium. I have always loved that main riff, so I decided to keep the theme of their lyrics, play with some solos and dance around with the timing and rhythm in a manner reminiscent of the old Greek folk songs I listened to when I was growing up.

The Talking Dog (Socrates cover/jam session)

  This is my latest song, and is part of an EP I'm making to be released on Zerda Records !

I wanted to have some more variety to the songs I've been doing, and get into a heavy rock'n'roll groove. The experimental, moody, atmospheric stuff seems like it's here to stay, as they feel good to play and add color to each piece.

As always, it is written and performed by myself, but this time my wonderful friend KishFox did some mixing and mastering for me!

Magic, Madness, and Mercy

Perhaps you're up late, staring up at the stars.
Maybe you're meditating, or creating.
Or are you on a legendary adventure?

  I've chosen a theme for a series of romance/fantasy songs and decided to call it Spiritvale, and this is the first of them!

Post - Con Aggression


Facing south, along the northern most mountain side of Spiritvale, there is a fortress. That old fortress has a garden...a strange one. Many unusual things grow there, and many unusual things happen there. What might one discover in a frost-bitten hedge maze that crawls with lupine sentinels?

A monster?
A Treasure?
A hidden passage?
The key to ones own self?

This is the second in my spiritvale fantasy series. Although it didn't quite go where I expected, the effort of combining a bunch of playing styles and metal genres went well, and I had a lot of fun doing it. I didn't care much for transitions, just felt I'd let it sit on its own and be weird. The audio is slightly mixed, and not mastered, and will likely be revisited soon.

The song is a rough translation of a concept I had that was broken down and simplified and reorganized after a few stages of getting to understand old Polish grammar.

The original title was to be "In the garden near the Wolf's house." which I still like. Consider it an alternate title.

Spiritvale: Wilczy Ogród (Wolf Garden)

Morning breaks, the brightness shines,
across the bark of fragrant pines.

Looming shadows, the storm above,
the light and dark, their dance of love.

A messenger speaks, in riddle and tongue,
revealing truths, both old and young.

Your mind unlocked, you feel as one
You feel the rain, you see the sun.

This, the third song in my Spiritvale series, is inspired by many things. It's that perfect moment. The moment in the wilderness where everything around you is just as it should be, the moment you find the answer after days of searching, the moment you discover something new and exciting, and the moment you find love.

The name itself is inspired not only by this, the perfect moment, but also what we know as the "sunshower", which is when it is raining out, but the sun is still clearly visible in the sky. It is known by many names, but the most relevant one, in my case, is "The Wolf's Wedding".

Spiritvale: Le Mariage Du Loup (The Wolf's Wedding)

The deepest reaches of the void,
beyond the visible edge of eternity,
you feel its presence,
its ever-reaching influence.

Does it feel the way you do?

Its visage mirrors everything you've ever known, and everything you will never know.

I wanted to go in a super-fuzzy, hi-gain direction with this one, and play with tempos/signatures a lot. I was going to use synth, too, to work on the outer-space theme, but after I plugged the bass guitar in, I felt that it wasn't entirely needed. I would still like to try introducing keys' and organ into this piece in the future.

This is my first attempt at something funky. It's kind of all over the place, and naturally gets a little intense toward the end. This song was a real departure from my typical song writing convention, and it was a LOT of fun to work on!
