Federico García Lorca visited Pitres in the spring of 1928, during one of his excursions through the Alpujarra. During this visit, he sent a photograph in which he is seen leaning against the trunk of a dry tree. These excursions were part of his fascination with the landscapes and culture of the region, which profoundly influenced his work. Pitres keeps the memory of the poet alive with a monolith that commemorates his stay.

I am a 53-year-old Spanish person who has always deeply loved electronic music. Inside I always longed to compose my own music and put my personal feelings and experiences to sound. Now that thanks to computer advances I can do it, I am not going to miss the opportunity. It may not be a special music nor will it reach great heights of popularity but it is the music that I always wanted to make and that makes me very happy to compose.
