Alta Sky's latest release "The Sounds of Illusion" takes a hard look at the current political turmoil and dissatisfaction with the American voter.  Like many songs to come this common theme along with a steady influence of electronic elements to counter balance the traditional instrumentation will define the band's sound into the future. -

In a time when the DIY craze has taken over just about everything from car repair to recovering antiques, Alta Sky has been burgeoning under the same tenets of autonomy and exertion to produce rock music that steps outside the bounds of “mainstream”, transcending any formulas or gimmicks to a form that is truly a complete self expression.  Based out of a warehouse studio hidden in the Heart of Orange County’s industrial park, the group has been both writing and recording new songs with only their own modest equipment and flourishing clout to produce sounds that will stand up to top dollar studios and seasoned producers alike, all completely on their own.         

Formed in 2014 by frontman and primary songwriter Isaac Leland, Alta Sky is quintessentially a project of momentum, stemming from more than four years off the stage and in the studio piecing together demos and song sketches that will become this years new releases.  After reuniting with past bandmates Tony Chopp and Kevin Doyle, as well as adding newcomer Brandon Grna, the group put together money to upgrade its recording equipment and spent a few sessions hammering out the final details before pulling off their first transformation from a quick shot sloppy demo into a final polished song.  “Loosen Your Love”, a mesh of hip-hop grooves, garageband guitar leads, and a bit of musical programming, encompasses a piece of music that has both roots in the traditional four piece we all know and love while growing into some of the modern elements of electronic music that have gripped so many young fans.  It is a good indication of things to come as the band aspires to reach out to listeners throughout the year 2015, releasing one song per month from its extensive back catalog of demos.   

While Alta Sky is a neophyte on the music scene its beginnings go much further back than the life of the band.  Leland started things off forming a group in High School which he kept together for over a decade cycling through band members and musical styles until Entice became a finalized line up in 2009.  The band went on to record the Album “Let the Fire Come” in 2011 to general positive reviews.  Shortly thereafter the group started getting recognition winning live performance competitions both through the LA radio station 98.7 and the San Diego Fair.  Unfortunately subsequent touring and label talks were largely unfruitful and the group disbanded in 2013.  The band essentially went on hiatus with Leland spending the next four years off the stage and in the studio writing and recording demos.  This was the time that he began working with Grna utilizing his assistance as both a bass and keys player to continue growing the back catalog of songs he had already amassed.  After countless demos and time passed it was finally decided to push the product back to the stage.  The group re-emerged as Alta Sky, with bran new songs and a more focused, and at times modern sound playing its first show at the house of Blues Anaheim in august of 2014.  And finally after several years of writing demos and keeping them to themselves, the group is primed and ready to release its first music in January 2015, "Loosen Your Love" with many more to come throughout the year, one song at a time.
