Witnessing the fascinating conjunction of Venus and Jupiter from my hostel window prompted me to revisit one of my early attempts at writing music for solo MIDI electronics. 

"Celestial Dance", composed in May 2019, is in three parts, each following the other attacca, without pause. The harmonic structure of the work is derived from the clash (conjunction!) of two diminished seventh chords, with their root notes a semitone apart. Pierre Boulez had used such a chord in Sur Incises (and Incises)  which piqued my interest in its sonority. The instrumentation albeit MIDI oriented (which allowed me to push the instrumental performance to superhuman virtuosity) is made up of the instruments Boulez used in Sur Incises - with the addition of an electronic piano and solo strings.

Improvised jazz piano. No structure or normative tempo. Had no idea what note(s) I was going to play next. After recording the track, when listening to it, I still had no idea what I was going to play next. It is one of those (whatever 'one of those' is).

Life Beautiful

Piano forte post-modernist approach on Vivaldi's Winter Violin concerto. The intention was to bring it to Eastern European sounds. For this I modified the scale to a custom scale that accommodated for the parts that are quoted from the original concerto. The pitches in my custom scale are C C# E G G# A# The parts of the original concerto that didn't have correspondence in the custom scale are my personal style.

No samples whatsoever in this mix. Made the 1st mix without any guitar, then made a recording where i jammed along to “Give me a sine”. Only 1 take so excuse some bad notes here & there, will have to practice more. A guitarist originally but got lost in the world of midi & synths:) 
Added this to the Bass line playlist as it uses the same Subharmonicon bass riff (more or less). 16 bit wav here.
