Spirits of Tepeyac Under the Silver Rain is a prayer-album inspired by the Virgin of Guadalupe as a central cultural icon of Mexico, and by the layered histories and spiritual continuities embedded in her image.
The work draws from a widely acknowledged cultural understanding in which the Virgin of Guadalupe carries a deep connection to Coatlicue, the ancient mother-earth figure. In this context, Coatlicue is the saint, a protective light, while also embodying the primordial force of the land the black anaconda rising from the soil. These dimensions coexist as part of the same symbolic lineage.
Composed of chants and sound environments, the album reflects processes of spiritual and cultural colonization that shaped the Guadalupe icon over time. 
This project is also inspired by a personal childhood experience: an angelic apparition encountered at the age of eight, perceived as a Virgin-like presence that appeared during sleep on the night the my grandfather died. 
The silver rain signifies protection and renewal falling over Tepeyac, the hill where the Virgin of Guadalupe is said to have appeared to Juan Diego in 1531. Originally a sacred ceremonial site in pre-Hispanic Mexico, Tepeyac later became a central location for colonial devotion, functioning as a symbolic landscape where indigenous cosmology and colonial religious narratives intersect.

The album will be released on December 12th via Bandcamp and SoundCloud.

This set was recorded on the 15th of May near the Molonglo River as a back-to-back set between Ant Nebula and Amar Dhall. We try record one set a year together, which we have done managed to so every year since 2014, except we missed last year.

The cheeses were varied, the tapas high quality and the wine was red.

This set was recorded for playing on the Auditory Relation Podcast.

This album is ultimately organic with a lot of instrumentation. Almost all of the instruments were recorded in the studio between 2015 and 2020, specifically to create the unique and groovy vibe of this album.
You may recognize some song names here, already released in compilations.
The work on this album was considerable: it took 5 years to achieve it in order to be satisfied with the results...It played in Astral Waves live sets at outdoor festivals in Canada and Europe and received many positive feedback. Gaudi really liked "Lullaby for the Godchild" at Samsara 2018.
All the thanks go to the fabulous artists who put their hands in the dough: Project Æolia on the flute, DJ Prahladji aka Patrick Bernard and Lydia on vocals, Rachel on the flute on track # 5, Elea for the vocals and instruments in the remixes as well as Sufi's Life and Merlin also for their composition work. A big thanks to Amani Friend from Desert Dwellers for his trust and patience as well as Louis from Suduaya for his amazing guitar play on track # 5.

We are one at the source, a web of pulsing energy that we might well call existence.

If you do so you’ll find yourself crossing the wonderland sometimes, but in the process you will also need to get lost in the forest, because the ups and downs are what makes life, what makes it dynamic and interesting, every single thing makes the wholeness of existence.

So don’t be afraid to do whatever you think is the best, because in the end we are balance, the holy sinner who does both bad and good, because they are exactly the same, they are just a matter of perspective on the same coin!

Live the fullest! Enjoy this body you have because you never know which one you’ll have when you come back to life. Respect it, feed it with the best and more natural ingredients, don’t abuse from it, because this is your only home for this journey <3
