Let the numbers do the talking. Altogether the 3 ALT members have performed in a dozen rock bands (from Indie to Indus), recorded 5 albums and played music for many years now.
All this stored experience had to lead them to somewhere: the release of their first EP (I’m a dancer) in may 2012, less than a year after forming the band.
Because ALT wants to move fast. They also want to sound true. In a word, they just want to do it right…  
in order to do this, Denis M (guit/voc) Nicolas R. (drums) & Scotch (bass/voc) have put all their energy and inspiration together to fully express their need to play a rock music that would have had finally transcended  its influences (mostly 90’s alternative): not to make another innumerous rereading, but a real move forward rooted in a respectful & high-minded  continuity.

ALT / Damaged Rock.
The tone is set, the motto, definitive. Because if you want a thing done well, do it yourself: ALT considers that if their music has to be labeled, better do it with a category they would create themselves.
Damaged Rock then,
Damaged as the reflection in a broken mirror from those past and present styles, periods and places  (mostly the northern  Parisian suburb, home of the band) that ALT claims as its essence.
ALT does not pretend to be a revolution; they would consider it vain and pointless.  Lucid as they are, the band figured out that there was still enough raw material in rock’n’roll to offer a music settled in our time, without forbidding it to be ambitious. In this way, ALT does not chase rainbows, way much too busy making up with this art (the lost art?) of composing good rock songs. Can it be all so simple?...
yes, considering the kind of obviousness ALT tries to give to the sound of its music, turning  it into a nervous and finely wrought muscular fundamental element…
Actually, ALT imposes on us and itself a certain idea of how rock must sounds. And you’d better be sure of its righteousness!

Damaged Rock.
Le ton est donné, la formule, définitive. Et parce qu’on est jamais mieux servi que par soi-même, ALT considère que quitte à ce qu’on colle une étiquette à sa musique, autant que ce soit une qu’il ait choisie ; et au besoin inventée…

Damaged Rock, donc.
Damaged comme un écho en fusion avec ces styles, ces époques passées comme présente, et ces lieux (le 93 notamment d’où le groupe est issu) qu’ALT embrasse et revendique en une démarche résolument essentialiste.

ALT ne se prétend pas une révolution, parce qu'il considère qu'elle serait vaine et sans objet: lucide, ALT a compris qu’il existait suffisamment encore de matière vive dans le rock pour offrir une musique définitivement ancrée dans le réel mais qui ne s’interdirait pas pour autant d’être ambitieuse. En ce sens, ALT ne poursuit pas des chimères, car bien trop occupé à renouer avec cet art (de plus en plus rare ?) de composer de vrais bons morceaux rock. Presque tout simplement serait-on tenté de dire…

Droit dans ses Doc’s et sec dans ses riffs, ALT veut s’imposer non comme une alternative mais comme une évidence, et dans un style à la fois musculeux et ouvragé qui se veut constituer une véritable ligne de force.
De fait, ALT s’impose et nous impose une certaine idée du rock.
Avec toute l’assurance que c’en est une bonne.
