DEEPNAS Various Artists Vol. 1 is a full-scale portrait of the label. We built this compilation as a living panorama of what DEEPNAS is breathing right now: deep dnb with its cinematic pull and weight, spring-loaded jump up that switches the body on before the mind, melodic liquid funk for moments when you want light without naivety, and neurodeep as the darker, emotionally charged line within our catalog.

Here, the genres don’t compete for space in the frame — they form a single, coherent story. Like walking one long night route: first air and depth, then acceleration, then warmth and memory, and once again a dense, focused stretch where every detail speaks not for form’s sake, but for feeling. This collection is about different states of the same scene and the same language — the language of bass, atmosphere, and honest emotion.

Vol. 1 is our way of showing scale without unnecessary noise or over-explaining. If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ll recognize the DEEPNAS character within the first minutes. This latest offering is a 4 track EP from Bristol based Altered Perception, who is no stranger to modern day label­ism, with no less than 4 imprints that he either owns or co­owns: Alchemic Breaks, Terrabyte Records, Transmission Audio & Sub:mission Audio. He has received support from some weighty institutions and DJs such as BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM, B.Traits, Doc Scott, Kenny Ken & Aphrodite to name just a few. The project is a label debut for the artist which adds to an already impressive list of labels who have picked up on the undoubted technical ability he posses.

Here's ‘Reaper’, rolling out almost immediately before breaking down to introduce a huge sub bass and Altered Perception’s trademark bass sounds. Simplicity is one again key as the rolling bass sits perfectly alongside beat. A true murky roller this one.

The two contrasting tracks demonstrate his diversity as one of the scenes top emerging artists. His background as a guitarist is a thread that consistently runs through his production, which adds a live and natural feel to much of his work. As a trained sound engineer working at a renowned studio, his experience from recording an eclectic array of bands adds a different dimension to his approach when making Drum n Bass. Working towards his debut album, this release is the first taste of things to come.
“The Place” - Teaming up once again with the soulful Vanity Jay, this track takes you on a journey of moods. From pensive and smooth to edgy and deep this track holds you on the edge of your seat as you travel through the soundscape. “Always There” - Known for his love of Amen breaks, Madcap brings his rolling jungle style to the mix on this energetic B side. Uplifting horns, retro guitars and bluesy vocals keep this fast paced record moving until the last bar.

We are delighted to announce a new addition to the Innerground family, the hugely talented BassBrothers! Originating from the city of Viana do Castelo, the Portuguese duo are here to fulfil your daily dose of ominous, dark and intense Drum n Bass.


Launching Headz EP is “Bizness” a monster track peppered with glitchy and choppy elements. Eerie and unruly sways of dark energy set the precedent for the rest of the EP - this track is custom-built for those 3.A.M basement parties that go all night long.


Next up is the title track of the EP, “Headz”, which steers us in an unexpected direction. While retaining the dark energy of the first, the rapid tempo and percussive elements generate that trademark BassBrothers sound which is sure to get you moving.

Following on from Headz is “Love You So”. Undulating bumpy basslines, airy vocal samples, and harmonica infused flows merge seamlessly to create a unique and refreshing aural experience.


“Not Bossa Nova” completes the EP, bringing us full circle by plunging us back into the depths of attacking breakbeats and jabbing synths. Unrelenting from start to finish, it seals Headz EP with a bang.


A beautifully crafted EP that weaves the vibrant energy of Drum n Bass with dark and ominous production, for an immensely exciting musical journey.
