When I first started writing this song, Break Free, the guitar riff immediately made me think of a fairy tale. Additionally, the chorus section moved powerfully away from the verse in a positive way. With that foundation, the lyrics came quickly, forming a story about conquering one's fears and winning the day - Altered

As soon as I heard the hooky melodic riff, I immediately knew this one would be a drinking song. And so it began.

This song, Beginning, began with the Piano Riff you can hear during the chorus. From that I was inspired and the lyrics came quickly. I then added other instrumental elements around it. Ironically, it did NOT start from the beginning ;) - Altered

This song, Wanna Song, came about in a unique way. I asked a few of my YouTube followers, "What instruments would you like to hear in my next song?" The majority of requests were for: Mandolin, Banjo, Ambient 0, and Circuit Rhythm. I started the song structure as requested and then also ended up adding electric guitar, micro bass and shaker. All said and done, I think a very non-traditional banjo/mandolin hip-hop/rock tune was born. Too weird? Let me know in the comments! *SHRUG* - Altered

Wanna Song

I'm very happy with how this song, About Time, turned out. It's a nice blend of acoustic instruments, electronic elements, and vocals. In my experience, getting all those diverse elements to sit in the mix without overwhelming each other can be difficult. Nonetheless, I think it accomplishes that feat. It has a mellow liquid feel to it that I very much hope to emulate in my future productions. Enjoy! - Altered

About Time

This song started out like any other. A chord progression, vocals, and a beat. Simple. Upon producing it, it quickly became a mess of layers. I peeled back the onion to something entirely different. Do I like it.... Not sure. Sometimes, sometimes not. I almost scrapped it. I think it's a good reminder for myself that less can be more. - Altered

Downhill Now

For me, some songs come easily, others not so much. This song, Pretty Please, definitely falls in the latter category. For whatever reason each step of the production took many tries. Record a take, delete a take. Listen to a mix, scrap a mix. Running uphill the whole way. Happy I stuck with it, because in my mind, it turned out decent - Altered

I had fun writing such a positive song, Bright Side. The song idea came from my time near SF near the ballpark. Such an amazing place. When attempting to make a video I was stumped. Think About You

This song, Protective, was difficult to create a video for. I wanted to try and capture the energy of the song but I couldn't seem to match any video content to the music. Ultimately I found a bunch of really interesting ink art clips and collaged them together to the music. While a bit minimalistic, I think it turned out. What do you think? Too boring? - Altered
