Many of you may be familiar with the legend of this song, how it pitted a small indie label (Wild Pitch) against the BMG behemoth, and opened doors for Sampling / Remixes. Most likely, you're more familiar with Snap's version than Chill Rob's and this is a problem we'd like to fix. We're hardcore Flava Unit / 45 King fans over here, so our idea with this remix was to create a version focused on Chill Rob that will hopefully make you forget about Snap completely. We built this around a bell-less drum break that we all know and love and turned up the energy a few notches for a Moombahton/ Jazz Dance / B-Boy killer. Includes a hookless, but horny instrumental as well as a version with hook. It's getting kinda hectic!

For this next remix, we flipped a classic cut from "21 and Over" and took it into Boombap / Dancehall territory - with a little homage to Biz Markie in there to push it over the top. E Swift's production on the original track was already top-notch, but we think there's just enough extra flavor here to keep the dancefloors heated / trunks rattling. Enjoy!

We finally dove into the Wu-Tang catalog and may have created a new genre in the process lol! Pulling inspiration from Raekwon's debut "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx" and the myriad Soul samples RZA uses, we flipped 'Criminology' into an 808-laden, B-Boy Trap banger. Enjoy!

In celebration of the upcoming DRE DAY Chicago 10 year anniversary, we dove into the Doctor's catalog, tapping into one his most recognizable songs. 'G-Thang' leans heavily on Leon Haywood's 70s slow burn classic 'I Wanna Do Something Freaky To You,' and we flipped it into a Moombah / Reggae / Breakbeat banger! Enjoy!

Dr Dre - Nuthin But A G Thang (Altered Tapes Rework)

We've always debated reworking this track because it's such a revered golden era anthem, and we didn't want to ruin a classic! But in the usual Altered Tapes fashion, we've kept true to the original, especially it's bass line and massive drums. The end result is an uptempo breakbeat heater with shades of psychedelic and soul jazz. An instrumental version is also available, as well as a Drumapella DJ tool (if you purchase the whole MAXI SINGLE package).
