H2O is not only the fourth album from the duo formed by Mira Romantschuk and Laurent Leclere. It is also the story of an encounter which blossoms musically and poetically over each song unfolding us into space and settling through time. A history of masks, masks of a strange and powerful carnival ... No explanations needed, witness the few words reflecting the spirit of haiku. Sparkling songs that know instinctively how to give its due to sobriety and silence.

H2O is a resolutely European work, entirely composed, recorded and produced by their own care for six months, between Spain and Finland. "Here we are" was described by the duo to have been born one night like this, a moment of magic, a flash manifesto for life.

H2O is especially the witness of a transformation between the organic and the digital, which extends through the experience of the previous album "If Beauty is a Crime", dedicated to film music composer François de Roubaix.

H2O is the universal symbol of water, universal chemical element, the element that is inside each one of us, but also outside of us, part of the whole, and constitutive of the whole. Its road multitudinous.

H2O is everywhere. Essential to life, indispensable to life, vital to life, indissociable from life. It sits near and distant in the echo of each language that adorn the abyss of the world.

H2O is a metaphor, a journey, its reality is amazingly simple. Its great strength is its inherent consistency, where feelings of serenity and absolute emerge.

H2O is also fascinatingly uncut, blameless, mastered, refined and dazzlingly visual.

With H2O, Mi And L'Au have without any doubt delivered a new masterpiece. Paradoxically, their most radical album up to date but with an easier access, clearer but more searched, more surgical but also warmer, stripped down but strong, violent and bright.

The genius of their work is to create and deliver something totally new and exciting: difficult to distinguish their influences. With its goldsmith's trade, H2O puts Mi And L'Au on the map amongst the major bands of our time. Those who experiment and dare to loose themselves without giving up the idea that we must give a meaning to this life.

Riffs foudroyants, mélodies électriques, énergie communicative et paroles euphorisante: pas de doute First Lady c'est de la dynamite, de la bombe bébé. 

Deux silex, venus du pays des druides, qui cognent et font des étincelles. Deux amis tombés dès leur plus jeune âge dans la marmite du rock'n'roll : ils sont des disciples de Led Zeppelin, des Who ou encore des Rolling Stones mais pas seulement, en témoignent leur reprise de No Diggity (de Blackstreet et Dr. Dre) ou encore leurs gimmicks magiques qui renvoient aussi bien aux Beastie Boys qu'à Ratatat. 

De leurs amplis à guitares et de leurs futs sort une potion magique qui leur donne cette force hors du commun pour composer des hits powerpop modernes et instantanés. Et qui nous donne envie de chanter avec eux et de pousser le bouton du volume au maximum. 

Parfois comparés à Hanni el Khatib, Weezer ou aux Black Keys, ils ont ce petit je ne sais quoi qui fait toute la différence : plus french touch, plus pop, plus potache, plus psychédélique.

Le producteur de Wolfmother est leur premier fan, ils ont déjà assurés les premières parties de James Chance et de Miles Kane, le Printemps de Bourges et Les Transmusicales les ont déjà programmé, ils ont été invités en session studio chez Le Mouv' par Christophe Crenel et chez France Inter pour 'On va tous y passer , ils ont été synchronisés dans la plus grosse émission de France TV 'Rendez-Vous En Terre Inconnue' et leur premier clip a été réalisé par Pierre Dejon déjà récompensé pour son travail avec Vandaveer ou encore Black Devil Disco Club.

They say the devil has many faces and that may be true but who would have thought that all these faces could be so attractive…. so captivating and so strange. For this collection of different versions of tracks from the critically acclaimed ‘Circus’ album (2011), Black Devil Disco Club has persuaded others to reveal their devilish personas whilst also revealing more of his own. 

And what a mysterious collection of music we have….from NZCA/LINES synthetic romance, Junior Claristidge’ futuristic space jams, Ed DMX’s cold wave chills, Leo Zero’s Star Wars disco, Eckman’s Mozart in Orbit opus, Sauvage’s amazing freak folk hoedown and of course the Devil’s own dubs, which strip away the original layers to reveal a glittering diamond skeleton. Including “Stay In Dub” a pure 6-minute long journey into the devil's world, a psychedelic bridge between past and future.

Since his re emergence in 2006, Black Devil has proven himself to be a master of electronic music, ‘the Ennio Morricone of disco’. His music has been described as being like ‘Joy Division produced by Giorgio Moroder’ and it came as no surprise when so many legendary figures agreed to work with him on the original ‘Circus’ album. You’ll find some of them like Nancy Sinatra, The Horrors, Afrika Bambaata and Jon Spencer on this album….lost in the ‘Magnetic Circus’.
