Le 13 avril 2011, Abelcoast nous quittait.
 
Quelques mois avant son décès, il élaborait un double album nommé Beats & Sugary Vibes, une sélection d’une quarantaine de ses meilleurs titres réalisés depuis le début des années 2000.
 
Pour commémorer sa mémoire, Alterlabel sort aujourd’hui le premier volume.
 
Le projet est resté dans les placards plusieurs mois, le temps d’apprendre à vivre avec la disparition d’un être cher, d’un artiste aussi rare que complet, du beat maker le plus doué et inventif qu’il nous ait été donné de rencontrer.

ABELCOAST - Beats & Sugary Vibes

Alterlabel is a fresh underground structure of young musicians, producers, mcs before the world ends. We'd like to create as much as possible, and if there's nowone to hear it, its like the apocalypse was already there.. AlterLabel is our platform. It is composed of Alterkestra's members : SUNRUHE, MR FRITES, ARIDEN MAYER, KID CHARLEMAGNE, ABELCOAST, FEAT THE VIBE, DAMNATOR, MACROABSTRACT, auxquels s’ajoutent de fréquents invités tels MICA, ALAN, SUNKING, ZIKKAT ... We all produce our own music in solo and have collaboration-bands with each other : DIESE, LUNETTES & CAPUCHE, MORE UNDERGROUND THAN HELL, KIDABEL, SENSIBLE, TERRA INCOGNITA, le COLLECTIF MAZIF, ALTERCHAOS et le DAMNATOR ORCHESTRA. Our studio productions come in every direction, Hip-hop, psychedelic, electonica, dub, house, funk, and experimental music but they all share a common background : The place where we grew up (Nîmes, south of France), the cultural and political options and opinions we share, and the constant surch for not losing our illusions. All of us are very much engaged in work collaborations, between us and for other artistic domains such as cinema, drama, video art, dance. We entend to extend the meetings and the network through the web. Basically were just tourmented excited and want to express it by any means before the world ends. The mainstream industry and major labels obviously limit our freedom of expression and diffusion. Ideologically we stand against all majors. Underground is a choice and thanks to the Creative Commons Licence. Our productions are available for free, and its legal. This licence agreement is chosen by more and more artists all over the world. Its the legal solution to free diffusion of creation in the internet era. The artist still owns his creation : it can be downloadable for free, but permission of the artist is nessecary for non-private use. Through ALTERLABEL we live our music and make it live for others.
